Gomez Place — Hotel in Sri Lanka

What a delightfully caring guest house here in Sri Lanka.||I had a scheduled tour that was supposed to happen three days after my arrival but thanks to American Airlines managing to botch everything they touched, I ended up coming almost two days late minus my luggage.||Mr. Gomez and staff had voluntared to arrange transportation which was gratefully accepted, but with everything going wrong he ended up rescheduling the airport pickup almost three times before it finally happened.||I truly believe it was only due to the efforts of Mr Gomez and his staff that Qatar was able to step in and miraculously somehow get my luggage from Chicago to where it needed to be here days and days ago.||This is not a gigantic mega resort at all but a delightful guest house where you will be greeted with genuine smiles and warmth.||Have to love a breakfast with fresh fruit that is prepared by someone else and beautifully presented.||You truly cannot go wrong staying here. They offered to schedule some tours which if I didn't have a tour group to meet with later, I would have cheerfully accepted because I know they would have done another...

This guesthouse is a haven of peace and friendship where I have been coming regularly since 2012. The rooms are spacious, very well appointed and very comfortable. The interior spaces are well designed to allow you to stay "in your corner" as well as to meet and chat with other guests or visitors. The swimming pool is pleasant and offers a good alternative if you do not want to go to the beach which is literally a five-minute walk away. The staff is young, efficient and very friendly. The whole is run by Mr. Gomez, the host of this house whose unique personality is the primary reason for the success of this guesthouse. He is concerned with satisfying all the requests of his guests and is always available to answer any questions in a very friendly atmosphere.
