We had an absolutely amazing stay here. We spent 5 nights here after two months of travelling Asia, we chose here to relax and basically do nothing but sunbathe.||This place was perfect! We were given a lovely breakfast every morning served with coffee and fresh fruit juice, our room was huge and everything was very new and clean, we were treated like absolute royalty and can't believe we paid so little for it!||The place backs onto the river which is beautiful, the pool is great - we spent many hours lounging around and taking a dip every so often.||The location is good, just about a kilometre from the main road which leads to the local beaches, tuk tuks everywhere are cheap and available as soon as you leave the hotel. Close enough to restaurants but far enough to be quiet.||The staff are so nice and helpful. We got to know them all quite well and they couldn't do enough for us!||Overall would recommend this place to anybody wanting to chill out in a very peaceful part...
Read moreClean, spacious and peaceful. It was the perfect place to relax after 3 days in Colombo. ||We arrived early due to the train from Colombo and was warmly welcomed with breakfast by the riverside.||The Sri Lankan breakfast was fantastic but make sure you order the night before.||It is a little out of the way and I feel more information should be provided upon arrival of the area, as there are limited options if you don't want to travel into Bentota or Aluthgama.||Here are some useful tips:||- If your traveling there by train try to get off at Aluthgama for a cheaper tuk tuk. Although from Bentota you shouldn't pay more than 300IKR. ||- The nearest ATM is around 30minutes walk away in Aluthgama.||- There's a great restaurant on Galle Road around 10mins walk away called Kandoori, we ate there twice and is very affordable.||If your after relaxation, peace and quiet then I fully recommend the...
Read moreI visited bentota when friends were here from Canada and the US. We booked the place for 5 nights and had ample time to visit the nearby beaches of bentota and also the ketchimalla mosque. The staff was super friendly from the very beginning and we were very happy with the serenity and privacy of the river house. It's a spacious property along the river branch and has a colonial laid back vibe like the rest of the rural sri Lanka. The rooms had all the necessary amenities and then some. Super clean and well maintained rooms with a huge balcony where you can sit in the mornings as well as evenings overlooking an array if trees and the river. The breakfast was also fresh and good. There are a number if places where you can order and eat from closeby. You can see the personalised service given by them with the owner Jhon at the premises himself. Friendly and very homey...thanks for an...
