Hotel Lanka Super Corals — Hotel in Sri Lanka

We had originally planned for a 3 night stay at this hotel. All that changed as soon as we entered the room:||1. Room: Room size is decent but every thing else is wrong. The furniture and fittings were all old and rusted. The wood was discolored. The paint was peeling off. this was just what we saw as we entered. The washroom hadn't been cleaned. The other offputing thing is that the towels in the room were all brown. There were red ants on one of the beds. what's even worse, the kettle was uncleaned (previous user had boiled milk in it). Clearly no one thought of cleaning the room thoroughly. We were disgusted by the room. We had another family traveling and their room was even worse. There was a backflow from the WC in that room and They were not even given a working kettle (all the kettles were used up). As it was quite late in the day, we decided to stay the night but move to another hotel in the morning.||Food: The breakfast spread was good. decent options for non-vegetarians. For veg, you only had bread and fruits. ||Location: Its right on the Hikkaduwa beach, the location is nice. The beach is quite rocky near this hotel. But you could walk a little to get to a good stretch of the sands.||Overall: The most disgusting hotel I have been to. On the positive side, the manager kindly refunded one night's rent while forfeiting one. This would have easily destroyed our vacation so we chose to forfeit the money and booked an expensive room at another hotel. that was one of the best decisions I...

The location of this hotel is awesome!! On the right side you have few lagoons and a "turtle beach", two spots for snorkeling and few different dive centres. On the other - a lot of cafes and restaurants, different serf schools, few surf spots and beautiful sandy beach. There are few night clubs there also. Just in front of the hotel there's a small, well covere by corals, lagoon. So it's perfect place for children and observing small fishes. The view from the hotel rooms are awesome. We lived on the third floor and every sunset was a magic. There's big supermarket next to the hotel. Famoust Rotti Num. 1 place in 1 min walking. Few souvenir shops near by and a bus stop. Territory of the hotel is clean and cosy. A lot of green grass and trees. Squirrels, iguanas, birds and one varan that are living there are very friendly and would be glad if you'll feed them. Swimming pool is clean and huge. Staff is very lovely and helpful. Room service is great. Clean bedsheets and towels every day. But the bad thing is that we got bottled water only on the day of check in. Also, there's no safes in a rooms. Rooms are clean and air conditioned. Furniture is old, but it gives some special charm to the interior. We booked BnB option, so I can't tell you about food a lot, but breackfests were pretty ok. Not spicy. Overall, the hotel location is good. Nice territory with a swimming pool at the hotel. Many good restaurants and supermarkets within walking distance. There is a bus stop nearby.||But there is a huge problem with the service and sun loungers. Upon arrival, they could not check us in for several hours, citing the fact that our tour operator did not send a voucher (while the voucher was valid and had information about the reservation). Then for two days in a row, they moved us from room to room, citing the fact that they simply helped us initially with the room, and our tour operator was still to blame for everything (which is hard to believe, since I repeat that all the documents were valid). At the same time, we are not the only ones who got into such a situation in this hotel during this period.||The second problem is the difficulty with places by the pool: there are very few sun loungers. they are in very poor condition and they are always occupied by people from the very early morning (at 6 am half of the sun loungers are already occupied by someone), although they are not used. The pool itself is dirty.
