Hotel Sanushi — Hotel in Sri Lanka

📌please read before booking ! I recently attended a close relative's wedding at this hotel on 17 th July 2025 . Unfortunately the experience was disappointing in many aspects, especially considering it was such an important event .

The overall maintainance of the reception hall was poor. The flower deco provided by the hotel were substandard and lacked any visual be be beauty..The balcony area attached to tge hotel was shockingly dirty , with dust and even sharp glass pieces scattered on the floor . The walls of the hall had torn stickers giving the space an unclean appearance.

The behaviour and attitude of the staff left a very bad impression . I personally witnessed one of the serving boys accidentally spill a cup of ice coffee all over one of my relatives. What shocked me more was that he didn't even bother to say sorry. The staff appeared disinterested, untrained, and were extremely slow and inattentive. Many tables were left without proper snacks or attention.

The toilet facilities were another major downside. They were very unclean and emitted a strong , unpleasant odor. It was also visually Disturbed that the glass doors has poorly placed" men" and" women" stickers and were directly visible from the reception hall . A proper passageway or partition would have helped preserved the beauty and privacy .

Other things like the welcome drink tasted like glucose shot not at all refreshing or appropriate for a wedding . Lighting is dull and inadequate for a festive event . Dance floor was extremely small Table arrangements were disorganized and did not match the expected standard for a formal function .

• The lunch buffet food was surprisingly very good and deserves appreciation. It was the only highlight of the event in terms of quality .

Overall I do not recommend this hotel for weddings or any important function . The Management needs to take serious steps to improve these areas before hosting such events again . This is my honest review and please pay attention for your own improvement.

This is the worst hotel that I have ever seen in regard of customer care and service. We booked their reception hall for our homecoming function and paid the full amount ten days prior to the function. The package includes a cottage for the couple too. So we informed them that we will arrive at the hotel the day before the function and the homecoming bridal dressing will also be done at the same cottage on the next day. We even told them the exact time that we will check in and they noted down every thing. But when we arrived the hotel the day before our homecoming they said us that all the cottages are already occupied and there's no cottage available for us. We were shocked about it as we have already informed our beautician and the photographer to be at the place on the next day. The management wanted us to move to the changing room at the reception hall which we didn't agreed with. Thereafter they tried to move a guest at the cottage to the above room which we felt as highly immoral. Luckily we were able to arrange another hotel to stay and we moved to that hotel. On the day of the function too, we have to face many difficulties. We have already informed that we will get bites from outside and they agreed to provide us facilities to heat them. But when our family members went to the hall in the morning and requested it they have said that they couldn't provide that facility. So in the middle of my homecoming photo shoot I have to call back to the hotel to fix this problem which was extremely terrible and disgusting. The package includes hall decorations too and the entrance deco was dirty. There was a big mud stain on the cloth of entrance deco. They have not even flushed and cleaned the wash room which was luckily seen by our family members and asked them to clean it properly. There were lot of other errors to which our family members have to personally involve and correct. Though the interior of the hall is good , Overall experience with Sanushi is extremely frustrating, disappointed...

Due to the location and the set up inside with pool and all it is undoubtedly one of the recommendable places around Nittambuwa for a day out. BUT if u are planning to have lunch or dinner there, I recommend calling them and making the order atleast ONE HOUR before u get there, unless u enjoy waiting for around one hour for ur order to arrive at the table. They actually take too much time to proceed with orders. And also the restuarant is full of flies in the afternoons so I hope they would get a fly trap soon since customers do not enjoy consuming flies. However the food was good and the portion is satisfactory. Saff isn't trained enough in serving properly but from the security guard to the staff at the restuarant everyone was friendly and helpful. Prices were slightly higher when compared to the other restuarants in the area though I would not complain about it judging from the taste, quality and quantity of dishes. This place was crowdy on weekends and holidays and the Crowd here was basically from the locality; bit inquisitive about others, so if u r looking for a private and quiet place for a get away, this place wont be ideal though it is one of the best places for group gatherings and other...
