Hotel Stargazer — Hotel in Sri Lanka

Arrived after a long late night flight with their driver to locked gates, pitch black hotel and a 15minute wait to be let in - not a good start ! Howling dogs in the neighbourhood made sleep difficult.||Room ok, nice bathroom.||I had minimal cash due to a travel disaster - arrived with limited funds to no Internet, no credit facilities and no support to help me get to my next hotel in Columbo. The hotel is really off the beaten path and not a great neighbourhood to go walking to try and find an ATM or bank.||Begged to be allowed to cash out from my credit card (offered them a HUGE amount for the privilege ) for a taxi but told no credit facilities ??? luckily I was able to convince a random tuk tuk driver to take me for the total sum of cash I had left ! ||Avoid at all costs especially if you are a female...

I contacted with the owner lady. She was super nice. We book this venue unintentionally. Pricing was fair. But the staff started decorating literally 30 minutes before the function. We were very concerned about the service at that time.

But food and service during the function was nice. People who served with drinks and food was super cool guys. If I would really rate I would give 3.75/5.00

Because of the late decorations and delaying our function. Otherwise good place.

The hotel is run by Athula Caterers and is designed mainly to host functions such as weddings. The food provided in such functions are really superb especially meat dishes.
