Had one of the most unique experiences at Jetwing Ayurveda Pavillions recently. From the moment you are greeted at the reception to the moment you step out to leave they have crafted a full end-to-end experience that is unique and unforgettable.
We knew before selecting Jetwing Ayurveda Pavillions that it was based around traditional Ayurveda treatments and the food there was all vegetarian. We had our reservations about the food and the overall experience we would have there but myself and my wife were blown away by what we experienced.
The first thing after your welcome drink is to have a consultation with the in-house doctor who is extremely friendly and talks to you to understand your medical history and craft a plan for your meals and treatments during your stay. You don't have a lot of control over the food you are served since it's all based on the doctor's recommendations.
We booked a Queens Pavillion room and the room was quite spacious. There was a private garden with seating for you to relax in private. Also, there is room for private treatments. The downside is that there are quite a lot of mosquitoes in the afternoon so the private garden is not fun to utilize in the afternoon which is a shame. The rooms had a lot of space but the space is wasted IMO, the seating is not very comfortable since there aren't any cushions. They tried to replicate the traditional interior vibe which was great, but the comfort wise it is not so great. There could have been a comfortable sofa or a couch for us to sit on and make conversations, which we missed. Also, I'm a bit of a workaholic, so a table to get some work done would have been awesome, which I missed. The room had a clean bathroom with an outdoor shower and a bathtub.
The food, where do I begin? I was skeptical at first, but it was all put to rest when we ordered our first meal. I never knew vegetarian food could taste so good. As I mentioned the rest of the meals are all planned for you according to the recommendations given by the doctor. So you don't have a lot of control there. Of course, you can order food from the menu, but I would recommend against it to get the full experience. There is no sugar in sight, they don't even provide creamer or sugar for in-room tea making. Not a bad thing, just a heads up to whoever is interested.
The treatments are done every day, and it is done by people who have years of experience. I and my wife had never had a full body massage done before and we both were very shy and uncomfortable at first. But the therapists made us really comfortable and they were very polite and friendly. So, in the end, we were very happy we got to experience it. The therapists were really professional and they were with us through all the different treatments to guide us. It was a relaxing and unique experience for us.
The overall vibe in the hotel is unique too. We felt like we were in a place away from the city center in a silent and tranquil location. It was hard to imagine that we were in a city and there was a busy road right next to the hotel. Somehow the disturbance is next to non-existent. The architecture of the building and the overall vibe of the place makes you relaxed and put your mind at rest.
This was one of the best experiences that we ever had. Everything was almost perfect apart from a few knit pickings here and there. The service of the staff, the food, the treatment, and the overall feel of the place will give you one of the most unique experiences you would ever have. We will definitely come back for a longer stay at the end of the year. Highly...
Read moreI will try to write this review as best I can. I have stayed in this hotel for a week. Starting with the service - it's more than first class. Always very helpful and nice. At check-in, in the restaurant, room service. The lady doctor and therapists are great too. This was my first time in an Ayurvedic hotel and I didn't know I was expecting it. The doctor checked my pulse and asked a few questions every day about how I was feeling. She prescribed treatments and medications. The treatments usually lasted about 2–2.5 hours, starting with all kinds of massage with various oils, and ending with special Ayurvedic treatments. I have always felt very taken care of. The lecture that explained many issues of Ayurveda and why, for example, I should eat such and not other fruits and vegetables, was very helpful. Kitchen In addition to the treatments and medications themselves, each patient has a diet that belongs to his type. Dosha. The cuisine is outstanding and the dishes are presented beautifully. Personally, I do not like coconut milk, which is the basis of most soups and porridge, but you can ask for a change. Hotel. This is an extremely intimate boutique hotel with cottages that have a private garden, I lived in Quenn Pavilion, which is a large bedroom with a bathroom and a shower and a bathtub outside which was extremely pleasant. The garden itself is fenced which gives a sense of privacy. Most treatments took place on the terrace. A small but pleasant pool. Always calm and silence. At first, I was bothering me that the hotel is not right on the beach but after visiting the Jetwing Blue hotel and the beaches on the beach with joy I returned to a quiet Pavilions. Unfortunately, the hotel has one serious disadvantage. It requires a lot of renovation. If it were not for somehow, treatments and kitchen i would give less stars. It is a pity because it is worth going to renewing especially at such a price of stay, I would expect a better standard of the...
Read moreI stayed at Jetwings Ayurvedic Pavilion in Sri Lanka, and it was an amazing experience! Highly recommend. The longer the better. Nestled within a serene and beautifully garden, the setting of the resort was so peaceful already.
Without a doubt, the staff made this stay exceptional! (From reception manager and staff, to yoga teacher, to the boys in the restaurant (Hashan), the ladies who did the treatments (Dewika!) and even the gardener and poolboy made me feel so welcome, everyday again!). Their smiles, attentiveness in all details, and genuine care stood out. I felt part of them after the 5 days. They might not know how much impact their kindness made to me: I want to again thank them all!
I did Ayurvedic in the past, and my expectations were high, although I was a bit sceptical. I must say, this place kept up and its much nicer than in the pictures! The treatment offered was impeccable, and it was tailored to my needs. Same with the food. Incredible! The rooms are nice and the yoga good.
I arrived by train from Colombo (super easy, and 15 minutes walk from the station) and extended my stay by a day.
The surrounding area of the resort is not that special, but it didn't detract since the tranquility and relaxation the resort offered.
The only negative detail that I can note is the Christmas music on repeat in the restaurant but in summary Jetwings Ayurvedic Pavilion is a haven for those seeking an accessible rejuvenating retreat. The staff's dedication, the delightful food, the serene garden setting, and the exceptional treatments make this a standout choice for anyone considering an Ayurvedic escape...
