Kavee Transit Hotel, Katunayake — Hotel in Sri Lanka

Friendly greeting and very comfortable bed. As a solo female traveller I felt safe. I had also arranged airport transfers through the hotel at additional cost and was glad I did as hotel is off the main road down narrow streets and I don't think I would have felt safe if in an Uber or PickMe ride. Property is gated and has only a small sign at front. |Breakfast was included in rate and consisted of 4 x toast, small omelette, two bananas and coffee/water.|Split system air-conditioning worked well.|Things to note. Room has a wet bathroom (shower with no glass or curtain) so everything gets wet (but dries overnight). Water pressure is minimal but at least hot. Only shampoo and body wash is provided. Toilet paper feels like rough paper towel. The bath towel was almost threadbare. I arrived with only basics as I was in transit so my suitcase was checked through to next destination. Mr. Kavee and his brother are wonderful.. Excellent hospitality and very very nice and clean environment and rooms. They offered me tea free of cost twice a day. I felt like I’m home. The breakfast is also more than tasty and yummy. They checked on me time by time to see if I needed anything. The best accommodation I had in Sri Lanka. Only 10 minutes from Airport. If I come again, this will always be my first stop to stay for at least a night or two....

The room is tidy and clean with A/C and mosquito net. The owner was very friendly and approachable and even offered us a lift to the bus stop. Nice garden and balcony surroundings.
