Kumu Beach - Balapitiya — Hotel in Sri Lanka

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Kumu Beach in Balapitiya for my honeymoon, and I must say it was an absolutely incredible experience. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and exceptional service, making us feel truly special throughout our stay.

The highlight of our stay was undoubtedly the Oceanview room we had booked. The view was breathtaking, overlooking the pristine beach and sparkling blue ocean. The room itself was spacious, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities we could ask for. Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing and witnessing stunning sunsets from our private balcony added a touch of romance to our honeymoon.

The culinary delights at Kumu Beach were a true highlight of our experience. The breakfast options were plentiful, and I would highly recommend trying the Kumu Full Breakfast, which was both hearty and delicious. The traditional Sri Lankan dishes, such as String Hoppers and Kiribath, were a delightful way to explore the local cuisine.

For lunch, the Seafood Tom Yum Soup stood out as an absolute winner. It was packed with fresh flavors and had just the right amount of spice. Additionally, the Roasted Half Chicken was simply stunning, perfectly cooked and seasoned to perfection.

Dinner at Kumu Beach was a true gastronomic delight. The Chicken Caesar Salad, as a starter, was a great choice with its combination of flavors and textures. As for the main dishes, I highly recommend trying the Roasted Beef Tenderloin and the Honey Glazed Pork Chop. Both dishes were cooked to perfection and left us craving for more.

Throughout our stay, the service at Kumu Beach was exceptional. The staff members were attentive, friendly, and always went the extra mile to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Whether it was arranging transportation, suggesting local attractions, or accommodating any special requests, they were always ready to assist with a smile.

We visited Kumu Beach arriving on 10th September and staying for 12 nights.|What a lovely hotel - if you want to relax, in peace and quiet, hearing the waves against to the rocks and beach - this is the place for you!|We booked an Ocean View Room, which was large, having a large balcony over looking the ocean and beautiful kept gardens and swimming pool.|Waking up each morning to the gentle waves just minutes from the hotel, and has access to the sandy quiet beach, with just a few local people wandering.|The hotel was excellent and catered for all our needs, special mention to Chef Indika,|who's culinary skills in preparing our dishes, the presentation was just as tasty as it looked. He would often visit whist at our dining table and would always cater for our dietary needs or change any ingredients as necessary.|Also would like to thank Anoj, & Prabath for all there help and advice.|The waiters Nilanachana (always with a smile to greet us,), Jayanath, Umanda &|Lahiru, were so professional, helpful, yet always friendly, each meal was a pleasure|talking to them. After a challenging and hectic day dealing with the GM of Glenross Living Kalutara, we reached out to Kumu beach for a last-minute booking. They were incredibly kind and accommodating, assuring us not to worry and placing the booking on our behalf . Upon leaving Glenross Living, Kalutara property, we arrived at Kumu Beach around 7:15 pm. The staff was ready for us, promptly taking our bags and offering beverages while assuring our safety and comfort.

What followed was an overwhelming display of hospitality. Upon entering our rooms, we found the air conditioning already on, accompanied by a handwritten welcome note. They inquired about our dinner preferences, and after placing our order, we freshened up for a much-needed meal. Remarkably, one waiter named Ruchira noticed my strained voice and promptly brought honey and ginger, suggesting their consumption and even arranging a soothing jug of hot water with crushed ginger—a perfect antidote to the challenges faced earlier at Glenross Living, Kalutara.

We stayed for two nights, experiencing the best of everything—from delectable food to exceptional service. Prabath warmly welcomed us each morning at breakfast, ensuring our well-being and promising a memorable holiday. The care extended by Prabath and the team was outstanding, making us feel truly valued.
