Mankada Resort — Hotel in Sri Lanka

The place was nice, clean and well maintained. But this sure is not the most welcoming place u will find. I had phoned them a couple of days back and made a reservation for a dayouting with a small group and once we arrived at the place, the manager lady made a list of complaints saying that she has asked the upper management not to give this place for dayouting because they are an all female staff and most of the people did not respect her or the staff and had made problems before. Eventhough it could be a legitimate claim, what could we do as first time customers of this place? 😂 and later, after setting out few ground rules, she accepted us. The food arrived super late, had to wait more than an hour and half. The manager lady also misinformed us of the portion size claiming 4 portions is not going to be enough for 6 people and we ended up having a lot of leftovers. When we asked them if we could get the remaining food parceled, the response was that they have run out of lunch sheets and they dont do parcelling. However, a little later, a lady from the minor staff managed to parcel it somehow. Eventhough the minor staff is friendly and attentive, the manager lady sure has a lot to learn about handling and addressing customers. We stay two nights at this lovely hotel.Everything was perfect.The staff were very friendly and professional.They did not served the food so we had out meals from out side but same company Mankada Restaurant food was delicious and so many varieties. The room was clean and nice.we had a very comfortable stay. Swimming pool was clean and there is baby pool as well.so my kids are very happy and had an enjoyable stay . The road to the location from the main road is very narrow so make sure to drive carefully. The resort itself, rooms, food and the service was pretty average and I would recommend this place for an outing on a budget with friends or family.
