I traveled to "Meemure" with two of my friends from abroad and our wives. It was dark by the time we arrived in Hunnasgiriya, and it was pouring heavily. We decided to stay at the highly rated "Katu Mati Gedara" after calling many phone numbers located on the internet. It was after 6 p.m. when we arrived at Katu Mati Gedara, and it was still raining. The owner of Katu Mati Geadara left us to the only employee and immediately left the place.
We quickly understood that relying solely on Google reviews could not deliver the most accurate information. The rain had soaked the clay walls of the houses up to a height of one and a half feet from the ground. There were some insects all over the walls. Despite our decision to stop there, forgetting everything, we had to endure some pretty awful situations.
When my wife flushed the toilet, the pipe that transports the feces down was damaged, and the feces spilled. We informed the employee that we would be unable to stay there any longer and departed in search of another place to stay. After approximately a half-hour, we discovered another accommodation and returned; we might have left immediately, but we told the attendant that we would take the food and leave since they would make dinner for us.
When requested to pay for the food after around half an hour, the owner of the place sent in the invoice for 5000 rupees for five people's dinner (chicken, rice, and two curries). Three meals with tea were said to be 2500 rupees per person for staying there, however they charged 1000 rupees for one meal. We sent a message to the owner, requesting him to come there because the employee was equally embarrassed by the bill. However, the attendant informed us that he was not at home. We suspected something was wrong and went on to his residence. He turned off the phone at home after sending us a phony message.
while we queried why they were charging 1000 rupees for one meal while three meals were supplied for 2500 rupees with accommodation, they responded it was because we weren't staying there. we said that we're leaving because we can't use toilets in his place. He claimed ignorance and threatened us with 5000 rupees if we wanted to leave.
No matter how hard we tried to explain it to him, he became agitated and began shouting. His mother came and took control of him; after talking to a drunken screamer, we decided it was pointless and paid 5000 rupees to leave. He also called the other hotel where we were staying and persuaded the owner not to accept us.
While the owner of the Katu Mati Gedara was a fool with a heart like a "crumpled clay house," the owner of the new accommodation kindly welcomed us and took care of our needs without spoiling our hearts about Meemure's rural beauty. We had a great time in Meemure after being treated so well by him, who was a true village gentleman.

Read moreWe called here a few days before we went here and asked if it would rain there. They said it hadn't rained for weeks. However, since we left, we haven't been able to go outside. When we asked the people in the village, they said it had been raining for weeks. It was only when we left that we realized the truth.😓😓
Also, the rooms here are not good. They are not worth the money. But the food is delicious. However, I do not recommend it. Don't go. You will get into trouble. Even if you go, don't go in...
