This place was a complete DISASTER! After enjoying two weeks exploring the southern beaches and central part of Sri Lanka, we made the unfortunate decision to check out the western side. The property advertised itself as a resort, but the rooms were far from clean, with bedding that smelled like mold. The owners were constantly trying to overcharge us.

Despite the owner's insistence on promoting the property as a resort, when I tried to provide honest feedback about the trash on the premises, she questioned me and suggested others intentionally left it. The issue remained unresolved throughout our stay. Originally booked for four nights, we changed our plans due to the property's unpleasant conditions and requested an early checkout, only to be told that only Booking could assist us.

They sold us a safari trip at an excessive price (for 6 people the entry and jeep fee was 75.000 rupees and they charged us slightly over 50.000 rupees for car transport) and additional services like dolphin watching came with hefty charges - 50$/person. The massage service, priced at $20-25, was far from relaxing, as per other guests. Despite the owners' claims, the pictures tell a different story. It was a disappointing experience.

On our final day, while being on the safari trip, they called and messaged to urgently contact Booking. It safe to say that during a safari trip you don’t get phone connection. Later, we returned to our room and desperately wanted to take a nap but we were woken up by hard knocks on door and a lot of staff panicking about a SNAKE entering our room. All the staff was scared and sat ca couple of meters far from the door and only one guy went to massacre the snake, leaving a huge mess in the room. Now, my biggest fear in life is of snakes so I immediately rushed out of the room, crying and shaking. The owners offered another room, but we decided to leave immediately. The owner, while I was shaken and crying, insisted we leave the next day, because that was supposed to be our check out date. Unable to tolerate the open bathroom and the owner's attitude, we contacted Booking, who helped us with an early checkout.

We were a group of 6, 2 of whom had just checked in that morning. After packing our belongings, we informed the rest of the group that we were leaving. Exhausted from the safari trip and unaffected by the snake experience, they stayed for one more night but departed the following day.

To make matters worse, the owners inflated the service charge and overcharged us for a drive to Negombo. Their prices were exorbitant compared to the southern beaches, and the property was poorly maintained.

The restaurant charged approximately 2,500 rupees for a main dish, but the only fresh fish available was tuna. Despite having breakfast included, which was a typical Sri Lankan meal, our options for lunch/dinner were limited to sealed tuna and poorly cleaned shrimp. The breakfast consisted of hot water and instant coffee to do-it-yourself, lacking diversity in meals and tastes.

Upon leaving that place, we arrived in Negombo and were shocked to see how inexpensive everything was compared to OMEESHA. We realized that OMEESHA was an expensive place. It's evident that the lack of tourists contributes to poor service quality, higher prices, and a hostile attitude...

My friends and I stayed at this hotel from April 19 to 25, 2025, as part of a tour group. I wasn’t planning to leave a review, but something serious happened during our stay that I feel needs to be shared: My friend experienced sexual harassment during an oil massage offered by the hotel. Even if you're planning to book a room here, I strongly recommend avoiding their massage service.

Here’s a summary of our experience: ➡️Room: ★☆☆☆☆

●The toilet was old, unstable, and had visible stains on the seat. ●The bathroom sink had a seashell-shaped faucet, which was outdated and covered with mold. ●Shower water pressure was low. ●There was a mosquito net above the bed, which helped keep insects away.

➡️Service: ★☆☆☆☆

●Young male staffs in the restaurant were friendly and tried hard to communicate despite the language barrier. ●There was a sign at the restaurant promoting oil massage services. My friend booked one, but during the massage, the owner touched her inappropriately. Please be cautious. ●After 11 PM, the hotel sometimes played loud electronic music. Luckily I was able to sleep because I was tired from the trip.

➡️Restaurant: ★★★☆☆

●Breakfast was mostly traditional Sri Lankan food. It’s a good way to experience the local culture for short stays, but might be repetitive for longer stays. ●Flies were common in the dining area, which is somewhat understandable given the open environment. The staff used strong fans to help keep them away.

➡️Environment / Nature: ★★★★☆

●The hotel is located near the beach and the sunset view was...

The hotel enjoys an excellent location with beautiful scenery. However, the room cleanliness left much to be desired, and meals were constantly disrupted by a swarm of flies. The shower had very weak water pressure, and the overall living conditions were uncomfortable. These inconveniences, while disappointing, can be somewhat understood given the hotel’s natural and remote setting.

What was truly unacceptable and deeply frustrating, however, was the behavior of the hotel owner. We stayed for four to five nights, and on every single night, the owner hosted loud parties with singing that continued well into the night. On multiple occasions, the music and singing extended past midnight, making it impossible for guests to rest properly. One evening, around 12:00 AM, I personally went to the beach to request that the music be turned off. Although the staff member smiled and appeared to agree, I suspect there was a language barrier, as the loud music continued. After a second attempt to communicate my concerns, I was again assured the music would stop immediately, but they continued with two more songs before finally ending the party.

At that point, I no longer expected comfort— but being unable to get even basic rest or sleep was simply unacceptable.

It is clear that the hotel owner has little regard for guest comfort and prioritizes personal enjoyment over hospitality. Such disregard for guests' well-being is extremely disappointing. This hotel is, unfortunately, not a place I can...

Having stayed at quite a few places in SriLanka at this price point, we were expecting better. I know its by the beach but we were not expecting the whooshing of the wind turbines overhead plus rubbish internet or the OUTSIDE BATHROOM, which could be seen as a novelty but bringing wet sand etc into the bedroom is a hassle. Along with the worst bit...thousands of ANTS. Mosquitoes would have been preferred as under a net, you are safe, but ants got everywhere. The restaurant is crazy expensive for what it serves up. We have stayed at a few places where the whole meal was cheaper than ANY of the starters here and better. Problem is, there's nothing else around the area so tough. Staff are nice though but not sure if they really get a slice of the service charge the guests pay as extra on top of their wages as we were charged twice on the rooms. I hope they do! Also, we agreed to pay by card for the rooms but the staff insisted to pay when we check out. The weird thing was, we already know and as expected, the owner said that his card machine was not working and asked us to withdraw cash to pay him! Maybe he is trying to AVOID paying more TAX or REFUND from unhappy guests!! I just read one of the reviews here, snake went to their room quite scary. If I read the reviews before hand I would definitely NOT book this place. Very uncomfortable place to stay. Look around and read the reviews before you book this place.

The hotel’s private beach is beautiful, but the breakfast was basic and unappetizing, with many flies on the food. The room was reasonably clean, but the open-air bathroom had many flies, mosquitoes, and ants — likely due to the natural surroundings. More seriously, a friend in our group had an extremely uncomfortable and inappropriate experience during a massage session conducted by the hotel owner. His behavior crossed personal boundaries and made our friend feel violated. Our local guide reported the incident and asked for an apology, but the owner showed no sincerity. Even worse, the owner’s wife accused our friend of lying or seeking compensation. If you’re looking for a peaceful place to rest at night, this is definitely not the place. Loud music and parties went on every night, making it nearly impossible to get a good night’s sleep. Travelers considering this hotel should be extremely cautious. ——————————————————————— Sadly, we still had to tolerate this person’s presence and pretend everything was fine. Perhaps everyone has their own struggles in life, and some women might feel the need to rely on a man to maintain their standard of living. But we hope that these facts serve as a wake-up call for the hotel owner — it’s time to restrain yourself and stop acting without consequences.
