I recently stayed at the Panoramic Royal Villa in Sigiriya, Sri Lanka, and the experience was truly breathtaking. The panoramic view from the villa encompasses a stunning rice paddy, the iconic Lion Rock, and Pidurangala Rock, creating a picturesque backdrop that made our stay unforgettable. The hosts were incredibly accommodating and kind, going above and beyond to ensure our comfort. They treated us to delicious homemade breakfasts throughout our two-day stay. The room has AC and a water heater. The villa's garden is a serene oasis, surrounded by nature and teeming with wildlife. While being immersed in such a natural setting, it's important to note that encountering a few insects is part of the experience. Overall, if you appreciate a tranquil environment, warm hospitality, and a view that will leave you in awe, the Panoramic Royal Villa is a superb choice for a memorable stay...
Read moreWe recently stayed 3 nights in this gorgeous accommodation ran by the sweetest family.
Located not far off the main street and many restaurants, the property had a stunning view of Lion Rock across a beautiful rice field. Definitely a highlight.
The family were ready to help us out with anything we needed, provided a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast every morning with coffee, arranged an elephant safari for us one morning, had a load of laundry washed for us and even drove us to Lions Rock at 5am. We cannot thank them enough for their generosity and hospitality.
As for the room itself it was very clean, the AC worked beautifully, we had access to the free WiFi l, a nice hot shower and even a hair dryer.
For our 2 week stay this is for sure the most comfortable and cared for we've felt, we couldn't be happier and recommend...
Read moreOne of my favorite homestays after 5 weeks of travelling in Sri Lanka. The last house on a small dirtroad with a beautiful garden, this is the place where you just want to relax, read a book and enjoy the view over the rice fields to lions rock. It's a quite place, maybe a 10 minute walk to the main road and a two minute walk to the lokal bathing place at the lake. The owner is a young nice guy, helpful, kind, attentive, speaking a good English, organised a basic scooter for us (2500 rupees) and helped one of us to go on a safari. Breakfast is good old sri lankan breakfast. If you looking for something fancier, go to cappuccino bistro a few minutes away by scooter. My favourite thing to do in the area: drive with the bicycle or scooter through the fields behind the homestay, watch the peacocks and enjoy a sunset away...
