Pinnacle Villa — Hotel in Sri Lanka

Probably the best place in Anuradhapura to stay at if you're travelling as a group. We stayed there for two nights. The rooms were spacious and the bathrooms were super clean. The bed was reasonably comfy. The room had some complementary water bottles, tea/coffee sachets, a hotwater kettle, dressing table and a rack. AC was working perfectly, and so was hotwater shower. The only thing missing was a TV. Since the place is relatively new, perhaps they are still in the process of furnishing it.

You can dine in the hall where the table can only seat 6. This was a little bother since we had 12 people with us. Some had to dine in the sofa. We tried their fried rice which was pretty good. However, we felt that they charged somewhat high fee for the roti, seeni sambol, lunumiris combo we had on the first night. Still food was delicious.

The front lawn was not that large although it comfortably parked our 4 cars. All together around 6 average sized vehicles can be parked without trouble. They do have a restaurant at the top which unfortunately doesn't have a great view. I checked it out at night hoping to see the 3 stupas with their lights on, but couldn't. But, in a stone's throw away is a road that flows along bank of Thissa wewa which will treat you with one of nicest views over the lake at night.

The only major complaint I have is the crew, who were really nice and very helpful, did not seem to give due care about Covid regulations. None was wearing facemaks at the time (April 1st week). Utterly disappointed and dissatisfied with the service and foods. When we ordered dinner, they served foods which were bought from a nearby night café. Those served foods also not sufficient. When we are visiting this type of hotel, we expect tasty and healthy food which are prepared by the hotel staff themselves. But instead of that they cheated us by serving this type of cheap and unhealthy foods. At the same time with the intention of saving their electricity bills they had hidden the A/C remotes when we came to the rooms. In addition to that they said that the hot water system is not working in the bath rooms, though it is working properly. Wifi is not working. Attitudes of the owner and staff is very pathetic. If you are searching for a place to sleep, yes this might be your place! But dont expect the standard level of service. The main issue i have with this hotel is the food. The chef was drunk even before we came to the hotel. Took 2 hours to make an omelette. Wanted a devilled chicken but instead got stir fried greezy chicken parts. My recommendation would be to take food from outside, come to the hotel only to sleep. Have low expectations and you will leave with...
