An Unforgettable Stay at Rava Garden – A True Gem of Tranquility
From the moment we arrived at Rava Garden, we were embraced by a sense of warmth, hospitality, and sheer excellence. This hotel is not just a place to stay – it is an experience, one that combines impeccable service, breathtaking nature, and culinary artistry in a way I have never encountered before.
Gastronomic Perfection
One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the food. Every meal – breakfast, lunch, and dinner – was designed as a tasting menu, a concept that I have never seen anywhere else. Each dish was a masterpiece, carefully curated to bring out the best flavors, and the presentation was nothing short of stunning. Whether it was the fresh tropical fruits in the morning, the exquisite local dishes for lunch, or the perfectly crafted dinner selections, everything was simply impeccable. The variety and creativity behind each meal left us looking forward to the next dining experience every single day.
Exceptional Service and Hospitality
The staff at Rava Garden is what truly sets this hotel apart. Every single team member was exceptional – always smiling, always ready to assist, and genuinely passionate about making our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Their warmth and attentiveness made us feel at home from the very first day. No request was too much, and their kindness and professionalism elevated our entire experience.
Spotless Cleanliness and Top-Tier Services
The rooms were maintained to perfection. Spotlessly clean, well-arranged, and designed to provide ultimate comfort, the accommodations were a perfect retreat after a long day of exploring. Housekeeping was meticulous, ensuring that every detail was taken care of, making us feel pampered throughout our stay.
A Haven for Relaxation and Nature Lovers
Rava Garden is an oasis of tranquility, perfect for those looking to unwind in nature’s embrace. The serene surroundings, lush greenery, and peaceful atmosphere create an idyllic setting for a relaxing getaway. If you’re searching for a place to reconnect with nature, escape from the stress of daily life, and simply breathe in the beauty of Sri Lanka, this is the place to be.
The Only Drawback – Distance from the City
The only minor downside of this hotel is its distance from the city and main activities. If you're looking for a place close to bustling nightlife or tourist attractions, you might find the location a bit remote. However, this also means you get to enjoy absolute peace and quiet, far from the crowds. And thanks to the incredible team at Rava Garden, we never felt like we were missing out – they made sure our stay was nothing short of extraordinary.
Final Thoughts – A Place That Feels Like Home
Our stay at Rava Garden was an unforgettable experience, filled with warmth, relaxation, and moments of pure joy. The combination of world-class food, outstanding hospitality, and pristine surroundings makes this hotel a true hidden gem. We leave with hearts full of gratitude and memories that will last a lifetime.
A huge thank you to the entire Rava Garden team for making our trip so special. We can’t wait to return!

Read moreThis was so much more than just a stay, it felt like an experience! We’ve never stayed somewhere where we’ve felt so well looked after. The staff are the most conscientious I’ve come across, and clearly genuinely care about their hotel and your stay in it. We were, inexplicably, the only guests there and felt like VIPs - it feels like a secret, off the beaten track place which definitely deserves more attention.
ROOM: We had booked a terrace room because I liked the look of the outdoor tub, but were given the ocean view junior suite. I was really pleased with this - it’s a beautiful room with a very comfortable bed and wonderful balcony overlooking the sea and all of the birds flying around the garden and shore. You’d be hard pressed to find a hotel room closer to the beach, and the sound of the waves crashing is wonderful.
FOOD: We were taken aback with the effort and care that goes into the food. We sat down to our lunch after we arrived and were surprised with three courses of a huge selection of dishes. This continued throughout our stay; we tried a lot of new Sri Lankan food and juices and enjoyed it all. The portions are very generous - it’s impossible for you to go hungry. Even when we checked out we were presented with a bag of sandwiches to keep us going on our bus ride! For each meal our table was set up in a different place outdoors, which was such a lovely touch.
ACTIVITIES: The hotel offered some complimentary activities which were very thoughtful and we really enjoyed. We joined local fishermen and helped haul in their nets on the beach (and hopefully weren’t too much of a hindrance!) and had a cycle tour through the village and rice paddies, full of birds and monkeys. We went for a walk at sunset to a lovely picnic waiting for us. Finally, we had the most wonderful dinner experience I’ve ever had, on the beach: a fire was lit, our table was lit with lanterns and we ate a delicious BBQ under the stars.
LOCATION: I came across the hotel because I didn’t fancy doing the 6-7 hour bus ride from Weligama to Ella, so found it when looking on the map along the coast. It is the perfect place to break up a journey, get truly off the beaten path (we saw no other tourists) and relax. The village is beautiful and the hotel and the rice paddies it is next to are full of nature. From here we had a very simple bus ride (direct bus) up to Ella which took about 3 hours.
STAFF: As I’ve said above, it is a joy to stay somewhere where the staff care so much. They are incredibly attentive and friendly right up past check out; they drove us to the nearby town and made sure we got on the right bus.
All in all it was a very special place to stay. It was a treat for us, but we both agreed that considering the room, attention and the extras we got, that it was very good value. Wouldn’t hesitate to...
