Hello! I don’t share the rave reviews for this hotel - it completely does not correspond to 4 stars... I would give a maximum of 1, and then only for the gorgeous beach. Temple tree resort & spa is the very hotel where you should never go. Why? 1. Old, shabby furniture, it seems that it was installed 20-30 years ago and is still standing... everything wobbles, creaks and looks presentable, to put it mildly. I don’t recommend turning on the huge fan above the bed unless you want to star in the new part of the movie “Destination”  2. Plumbing - if you know how normally all the taps should work and water should flow, then I’ll tell you this - in this hotel they don’t know about it. The toilet is leaking, the faucet is spitting hot and cold water, and the restroom is always damp. 3. Mini-mini format refrigerator - fits two 1.5 liter bottles of water and goodbye! By the way, we recommend buying water in stores, because they don’t always bring it to your room (oh my God, 2 bottles). TV without Russian channels (for whom it is important to watch Sasha-Tanya after a 10-hour flight and relax) and at first there were problems with it too (they forgot to change the batteries in the remote control and it did not work). 4. When you check into a hotel, they don’t warn you that you won’t be alone, but in the company of a bunch of cockroaches and beetles. In response to your complaint, they may push you through some means, but as practice has shown, there will be even more cockroaches! If you are cold-blooded about insects, then skip this point. 5. The hotel has big problems with electricity. During almost 2 weeks of our stay, the lights were cut out 3 times for several hours... and the air conditioner that is leaking (to justify the hotel workers - they eliminated the flow of water the first time) cannot work and you will immediately feel all the delights of the climate in the month of March on Induruwa. 6. Food? Under no circumstances take it, or even breakfast, if they offer it to you for free! The chefs not only cook without gloves, but also add their own spices to all dishes. The buffet turns into a boom...spice market! For 14 days, nothing from the menu has changed, and the staff does not know that when a dish runs out, you need to report it. The tea and coffee are not bad, you can also take juices: pay attention, they are served only for tomorrow, and at dinner kind waiters will come up to you and sell you on offering to drink water or something else for money. Business level 99! P.S. behind the hotel there is a chic cafe called “Janus Paradise” with affordable prices, a good selection and a Russian menu. Their cola costs 2.5 times cheaper than in a hotel bar - don’t overpay! 7. The hotel area is small, but quite well maintained. The pool is small, for an adult man 180 cm tall, the depth is just above the waist... for children it will definitely be suitable, but for adults only go into the ocean or swear every time you go there! 8. The beach is amazing! Long, fine sand, long, gentle slope. The only thing is that it often storms, but here the complaint is no longer against the hotel  9. I would also like to add about the service: it’s okay to see you off early in the morning, but no one here is in the mood to meet you. You go in and sit and wait for someone to run up. The guy who opens the big gate to get into the hotel always comes out with a face like we still have to pay him extra for lifting his butt... 10. The location of the hotel on one side is excellent - quiet, no animation and even the noise of the railway that passes nearby does not interfere. But if proximity to civilization is important to you, choose another place. Total: First experience of Sri Lanka 5 out of 10 (naturally, the rating is only for the amazing nature, but not for the hotel).

Our 2 night stay in this hotel was fabulous and we really enjoyed our stay in 306 room. Rooms were clean and spacious. Equipped with a TV with a PEO TV connection and AC. A queen size bed with comfortable mattress and was covered with clean linen. Bathroom had basic bathware, i.e. shower, commode, sink etc. Water pressure was bit on low side, but was manageable. Situated adjacent to ocean, beach is accessible and was free almost all the time we stayed. Months of July and August was not the best time to enjoy the beach in this aera, but my kid enjoyed a lot in the vacant beach. Same goes with swimming pools, there are two and one is a jacuzzi type pool. Both were clean and idle most of the time, so we enjoyed pools all to ourselves. There was a baby pool connected with the main one. Parking was secured behind locked gates and a security guard. You have to park the car near the reception hall, which increase the security, but the parking space lacks a roof. Hotel has provided sunbeds near the beach, where you can enjoy the power of the ocean while sipping the mocktails from the bar, which are really good. I believe sunsets are amazing, but unfortunately sky was covered with dark clouds in both days we were staying. Staff was helpful and keen on our input. Each day they asked us if they can do anything to improve our stay and reacted very quickly to our requests such as extra pillows and hair drier. To our delight, we were offered buffets for breakfast and dinner in both days, lunch had to be chosen from a set menu. Food was good, but not that great. They lacked the flavors on food items like biriyani and dosa, but one could enjoy. The portion they provided was more than enough. Overall, I really enjoyed our stay and would like to recommend others to have a feel of this hotel as well.

Booked a quick 2-night holiday. The booking process wasn’t the easiest, as they do not offer an online POS for payments, which was inconvenient. The location is quite poor — there’s no beach access, and for a staycation, this place is a definite no. There’s very little to do, so boredom sets in quickly. Check in was not welcoming at all. We were there on time and I was told "keys will only be provided once you've had your welcome drink". That was a joke. (have the drink if not no key for you 😂) The room itself was below average for the price. Bedding wasn’t comfortable, with only one pillow and one towel provided per guest. Despite including my 11-year-old child in the booking (and paying for them), no pillow or towel was kept in the room for her. It had to be requested seperately. The room and bathroom was also unnecessarily decorated with flowers — it took me a good 10 minutes just to clear them out. The TV was very small as well. A kept rattling through out and wasn't cooling. Staff seemed poorly informed. I asked if there would be a dinner buffet and was told “no,” yet there was in fact a buffet available. That said, the buffet was the highlight of the stay. The food was exceptional — great variety, full of flavour, and thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall my stay was disappointing. So bad that I cancelled one night from the original booking and headed home early.

Theft at the hotel||||Incident details||||It was 9:30pm when we planned to have dinner at hotel, to be sited outside of the dining area because we had an early check out next morning 3rd May.||||My fiancé went back to room to get cash from room at 9:45pm.||We had dinner at around 10:06pm and went straight to the reception area to clear food bills.||Suddenly my fiancé realized that there was no cash in his pant pocket (cash was loosely kept in it) . He thought it must have fallen at the area where we had dinner, we came back to the area to check. unfortunately couldn't find. Everyone nearby also helped us in searching but we didn't find.||||Later we checked the camera in the entire video we clearly saw that the waiter who cleaned the table has actually picked the money.||While confronting he said it was “tissue paper” whereas there was no tissue paper in the entire area where we were sitting because the hotel provides napkins only (attaching the photo where you can see no tissues nearby) and everyone who stayed in the hotel will agree that they provide napkins and therefore no tissue is required.||||We got money from room, sat on the table for dinner, went to wash hands, went to reception to pay the money for clearing bills and found no cash, this is a clear indication that we lost it while having dinner and the video clip supports the claim that the waiter has stolen it.||||I escalated this to the hotel sales manager Mr Roshan, and I was appalled to hear his reaction, he casually stated that we will investigate and get back , next day I called him again from the airport ( as I was travelling back to India) and he again casually stated that "I am out of station , it will take 1 week for the investigation)||||I waited for a week and this is the email which I received from him stating that the waiter is working since a long time and guests have appreciated him bla bla.||||I would highly request you to take strict action against the waiter Mr. Roshan.||||We lost 11000 LKR and are extremely disappointed with the way the entire thing was handled.||||I want the money BACK!! It is our hard...
