The Foresta Resort Sigiriya — Hotel in Sri Lanka

It was one of the best experiences I had in a hotel stay. There were 9 members in our 2 families and we wanted a peaceful place to stay. And I have no doubt to mention that Foresta Resort made our days so special during our stay. The location and the surroundings are so calm and it is a perfect destination for anyone who seeks a peaceful stay. There are five spacious rooms where you can select the rooms according to your preference when booking the venue. The pool is located in the centre of the hotel and it has a great surrounding. The pool was clean and safe and has a separate section for kids. The area is well maintained and we felt like we were almost at home. Specially, I must admire the support and the service given by Mr. Sumith, who is the hotel manager. He was super friendly and professional at the same time. 🛏️ The rooms were very comfortable, with a private garden view that we really enjoyed. The staff were also very kind and welcoming. Sadly, our stay was short, so we didn’t have time to try out the swimming area, which looked inviting.

🌐 The main issue we faced was the internet connection. Wi-Fi barely worked during our stay (we were told this was due to external factors), and even when it did, it was extremely slow. The cellular signal in the area was also weak, so even a local SIM card didn’t provide reliable internet.

🏞️ The property is a little off the beaten track and can take a bit longer to reach, as the final stretch is along an untarmacked road.

We stayed at "The Foresta" for 3 nights, thanks to an outing hosted by my brother-in-law, in late December 2024. From the point of arrival to departure, it was one of the most pleasent experiences that me and my wife had, along with the family. Both me and my wife, have travelled significantly in Sri Lanka and this experience is probably in our Top 5. The stay at the Resort was very enjoyable and we were well taken care of, by Mr. Sumith (Resident Manager) and his team. We left the place with the hope of returning in the near future.
