A Disastrous Experience at Thotupala Lakeside Hotel

I recently attended a wedding at Thotupala Lakeside Hotel, and the experience left me utterly disappointed. As a member of the organizing team for my friend's special day, I couldn't help but notice the numerous shortcomings that marred what was supposed to be a joyous occasion.

One of the most glaring issues was the complete lack of hygiene at the venue. The washrooms were nothing short of disgusting, presenting an appalling state that reflected poorly on the hotel's commitment to cleanliness. It was truly disheartening to witness such neglect, especially considering the importance of maintaining basic sanitation standards, particularly at an event as significant as a wedding.

Adding to the dismay was the impracticality of the hotel's rooms. Despite dressing up for the occasion, the rooms were inaccessible, especially during rainy weather. Navigating through the premises became a challenging task, leaving guests frustrated and uncomfortable. It is unacceptable for a venue to overlook the basic necessity of ensuring guest comfort, especially when they are paying for the privilege.

Moreover, the lackadaisical attitude of the staff was evident when we had to approach them ourselves to request a welcome drink. This is a basic courtesy that should be extended to guests, and the fact that we had to remind them of such a simple task was both embarrassing and unprofessional.

The food was neither clean nor edible, raising serious concerns about the hotel's commitment to providing a quality dining experience. Considering the substantial amount of money my friend and her husband spent on this event, the lack of value for money was glaringly apparent.

To add insult to injury, the hotel failed to execute even the most basic instructions given by the bride. Specific directives regarding table numbers were completely disregarded, leaving visitors waiting for an uncomfortably long time as the staff scrambled to arrange the tables. This lack of attention to detail is unforgivable and reflects a blatant disregard for the wishes of the bride and groom.

In conclusion, the overall experience at Thotupala Lakeside Hotel was nothing short of a disaster. From the lack of hygiene and inaccessible rooms to the subpar food quality and the failure to follow simple instructions, the hotel failed on multiple fronts. Do not go there! I repeat! Do not go there!!||I once went there for a day out package. Even though the time was from 9am to 4pm, I went around 12pm hence I asked them whether they can extend time till 6pm and they were okay with it.||However, when we go there, we noticed that the room was poorly maintained, and the bathroom had water leaks but that was not the main problem compared to our experience. The main area where the buffet was arranged was occupied by a group get together, so we were requested to sit at some other open area. The hotel manager said that they will serve the food to the place we were sitting but they didn’t. We had to go back and serve ourselves from buffet and come back to this area to sit. Also since this is an open area, when we went back to get the dessert, we saw craws eating from the plates we left there. I have photographs of this.||Now comes the worst part. After returning to our room, I noticed that the bathroom has no water, so I informed the reception by a call. However, nobody attended even after 30 minutes. I called again and the reception said, he informed the maintenance. So, I asked him to check again with maintenance and give me feedback. He didn’t call back so I called again in another 10 minutes. He said he is not able to leave the reception desk and he will call the maintenance again. He still didn’t call me back, so I called again and ask for their manager’s number. The way they responded to a basic need of humans is frustrating.||Then I called the manager and asked him about this in a slightly high tone as I wanted to show him my frustration. He came to our room and said that a pump is down so it is not possible to pump water to upper floors, and they can give us a ground floor room after 4.30pm when the other guests who have come for day out packages leave. Then I asked him to show me a common washroom which has water. This manager didn’t have the curtsey to give me a solution for my need until I ask for it.||It is my worst experience with hotels so far in my entire life. I am just leaving my bad experience here.
