You find Ristafallet Camping between Järpen (7 km) and Åre (17 km) close to the E14 road. ||You can set up your tent, park your caravan/camper or rent a cabin on site. We rented a cottage for five days on this charming, relaxed camping. Besides the beds, a table and chairs we found an electric cooker and a refrigerator.||We could take a shower and go to the bathroom at the service house, eqipped with toilet paper (which many other campings do not provide) and paper towels. There were also a kitchen with all kind of household equipment you’d ever need, including microwave ovens, a washing machine and a dryer. ||So much household equipment I could only find in better hotel apartments. For a camping it was really impressing.||But what was even more impressing and made our stay there even more pleasurable was the hosts, a nice couple who run the camping. They were very kind and helpful.||For all these reasons I can wholeheartedly recommend Ristafallet Camping for all who visit the nearby waterfalls (mainly Ristafallet, right at this camping) and Sweden’s biggest waterfall Tännforsen 44 km on E14 westward. There are also many hiking trails, tourist attractions and beautiful sights, among them snow covered mountain tops even during summer. This camping is also an ideal starting point to everything you want to see and experiment in...
Read moreWe have just stayed for three nights as a family of 4 in one of the cabins. The cabins have two sets of bunk beds, (we hired bedding there as we had flown and didn't want to use space in our suitcase) a fridge, a small 2 ring stove and a small table. There is a larger kitchen in the facilities block with an oven, stove, microwaves sinks and all the crockery/cuttelry/pans etc you could need. The shower blocks were always clean and warm.||We also paid to do the ice cave trip with the lady who owns the campsite and it's definetley worth visiting. ||||We visited 'Milano Pizzeria' twice,|| only a few minutes up the road by car and is run by a lovely man. There is a supermarket not far from the pizzeria that we visited several times too. We drove into åre one evening and ate at "Broken" who serve burgers/Tacos etc. It's a busy pub but a nice atmosphere and good food.||||We booked a husky ride with 'åre Sleddogs" through the woods and around the frozen lake, it's magical and the staff are great.||||Overall we have loved every minute of our visit to Sweden, made all the better by staying at Ristafallet and the extremely helpful and friendly...
Read moreThe campsite itself was great. Very beautiful. The staff (who we never actually saw) however was very rude. When we arrived we found the keys to our cabin taped to the door which is fine. When we left there was no one there again so we dropped the keys in the slot and left. Then we started receiving the emails and the texts. Constantly harassing us about paying even though we booked through Travelocity and had already paid about a month in advance. They said they saw us leave and not pay. Why was the door locked then if they were there? They even threatened legal action. I went so far as to tell them that I was away from my home base and wasn’t going to send credit card information to them until I got to a secure WiFi but that I would once I had a secure connection. They continued to harass us constantly....
