Best Western Gustaf Froding Hotel & Konferens — Hotel in Karlstads kommun

This is a surprisingly good value hotel. Out stay was a family visit whilst touring parts of Sweden. The rooms we paid for were on the basic side but clean and well furnished. Everything worked on the room, the water was hot and the towels clean and fluffy. Beds were comfortable. The pool was a great place to relax and very enjoyable, towels were provided for the pool. I didn't use the gym or hot tub but my family said they were very pleasant. Dinner options were buffet style plentiful and quite good for the price. Breakfast choices were huge and this made it a delightful experience as virtually all tastes were catered for- hot, cold, continental, sweet and savoury. Coffee was always available. It was nice to taste local beers from the bar as well.|Despite it being busy there was always room to be seated in the restaurant.||Overall, a good value 3* hotel that I would recommend for...

Stayed at the hotel 1 night in the beginning of february 2025 with my husband and 2 children on our way to skiing vacation. Rooms are dated and worn, but breakfast and location is fine.

There was a country festival at the hotel during our stay, so there was live music and people partying. We were assured at check in that the noice would stop at 01.00 at the latest, but there was music, people playing guitar and singing in the hallways, dogs backing etc. until 04.00. It was impossible to sleep. We were told at check out to send our complaint to the hotel by e-mail, but 10 days have passed, and we have not heard back.

The hotel building was old, the same with the interior. But, it was still a pleasant stay we had here. The room was clean and tidy. The lights in the room removed the warm nuance the room actually had. The gym was small, yet still meet the bare minimum equipment needed to workout. The jacuzzi and sauna area was also cozy. However, the pool was under renovation when we stayed here. The restaurant area was huge. The breakfast was also great. I would say the breakfast was the best part of our stay in this hotel. Overall, the whole experience here was not as great as expected, but this hotel is strategically located close to the city center and the shopping area. So, you'll eventually go out to spend the day.
