Kläppen Ski Resort — Hotel in Malung-Sälens kommun

We recently stayed at this ski resort and, unfortunately, our experience was quite underwhelming. While the house we stayed in was decent and conveniently located near the slopes—with good connections throughout the area—the overall service left much to be desired.

One of the most concerning observations was seeing ski school instructors drinking beer before returning to care for children. This raised serious concerns about safety and professionalism. Additionally, the reception staff appeared untrained and uninformed, often unable to provide even basic assistance or information.

Another strange aspect was a woman in Kläppen-branded clothing who was frequently picking up cans from the trash and behaving very oddly. Her actions and demeanor were unsettling and added to the overall feeling that something was off. It gave the impression that the resort may not be supporting or managing its staff properly.

While the infrastructure and location have potential, the lack of professionalism and the overall vibe unfortunately made our stay uncomfortable. We would not recommend this resort, especially considering that there are many other ski destinations across Europe that offer better service and...

Good location, great for kids. I had an issue with booking, I was told my room was close to the ski in and out area and close to kids area and had a sauna, when I arrived and checked the room, it was not close and had no sauna. I went to reception on site and was told unfortunately there is nothing they can do and only option is to pay for current accommodation and then to pay for new accommodation with my original request. Pretty disappointing giving they had what I requested but gave me something else.

The staff in the top skugan did not really want to help to much, seems like they had there own personal dramas going on and reluctant to assist in simple requests of customer service.

Food was good, trolls where great for kids, awesome work by the trolls and mountains well maintained and no trash ect.

I would definitely recommend this place, i would just like to make the potential guests aware...

We really enjoyed our time skiing at Klappen. It is a lovely little resort which caters for all. My only reservation is that for experienced skiers who like black runs and extreme excitement, I am not sure you would want to stay here for more than 2 fulls day skiing, unless you were with a mixed party and less experienced skiers? I just don't think the resort is big enough and offers enough runs and excitement. Although, I am sure less experienced skiers and kids would be more than happy to spend a week here. Staff are friendly at this site and I found other skiers were mostly considerate to others on the slopes. We stayed in a pet friendly chalet at the top which was perfect. The cat and dog had a great time. Snow conditions were perfect and the temperature was around the -9 during the day which was nice as 1st evening we arrived...
