I stayed at Håby Motell for one night mid-May 2014 along with my twin brother and his girlfriend on a weekend getaway along the Swedish West Coast. This was my second visit to the area in 6 months and I chose to come back to Håby Motell.||||Description||Located at a route E6 rest area, Håby Motell has a gas station and 24/7 convenient store on the premesis. The on-site restaurant is open Sun-Fri 06:00-24:00, Sat 06:00-21:00. Breakfast is served 06:00-10:00. Check-out at 11:00. The local council has a tourist information desk at the stop. Room standard is lower in the North Wing compared to the buildings south of the reception.||||Pros||Håby Motel benefits from friendly staff, the location just off route E6, free parking and a basic but still good breakfast menu (complimentary). The motel also welcomes dogs.||||Cons||Beds are far from the most comfy I slept in. In the three-bed room, two of the beds were in a sofa bed. The Wi-Fi connection is provided by Telia Homerun. Remember to ask for a complimentary voucher if you intend to utilize the service.||||Summary||I recommend this motel if your are on a budget looking for a decent...
Read moreWe, 2 adults and 2 kids (6 & 12), stayed for a night, on our way from Oslo to Gothenburg and Liseberg.||||The room is rather small, with one comfortable bed for two adults, and a sofa bed for the kids. Nothing fancy, but all what we need for a quick night stop.||||We did not test the dinner at the restaurant or burger joint, but had some snack at the convenience store, and we got what we expected.||||Håby doesn't have much to offer, other than this, but me and the kids did have a walk around the area and into the woods,so it's possible to do a walk in the areas.||||The breakfast is nothing fancy, but a small wariety of bread, Knekkebrød, vegetables, cheese, spreads, eggs, meatballs, sausages, eggs milk, juice, yoghurt, coffee and some pastries.||||We payed aprox 900 SEK, for the room, breakfast and parking, which is nothing less than a bargin!||||So if you just need a short night's stay, along the highway, and nothing fancy, this is a great place to stay.||||The noise from the highway, might6be bothersome, we had one of the rooms closest to the highway, but it quieted down a bit in the evening, so I...
Read moreI wouldn't wish this place on my worst enemy. The rooms are fine for a night's sleep if the "D"l himself wasn't jealous of the heat. It's like sleeping in a sauna with no way to cool down without opening the windows to a noisy parking lot. And the noise from the trucks is ear-splitting all night long. Seriously, they either start, stop, or just let their engines idle all night.
The breakfast is so bad I wouldn't feed it to my dog. It's clearly prepared by underpaid teenagers in a terrible cafeteria. And don't even get me started on the dinner. It's just as bad.
Service? What service? The only thing the underpaid staff seem to know how to do is hand over keys and take them back.
You're basically paying a premium for a terrible experience. Please, do yourself a favor and spend your money elsewhere. This place needs to shut down. I feel completely ripped off.
The only positive thing I can say is that the place is clean. But honestly, that's...
