My wife and I decided to have a romantic weekend for two nights away from the kids, and Mollösund and Mollösund Wärdshus was our first stop. ||||Although on the pricey side, we had booked a room with sea view (their most expensive option) and were delighted and surprised to see that it also came with a large terrace with a small table and two sun beds. We enjoyed a nice bottle of Champagne while overlooking the busy docks on a hot summer day. The room was simple but clean and nice with a comfortable bed and an OK bath room. Definitely to our expectations considering this is a small establishment in a small seaside town and not some large hotel in the big city. Also, there is parking just outside the hotel which is really great considering that the public parking lots aren't extremely close. So far so good.||||However, the service (or lack there of) was really not to our expectation. At no time during our stay did the personnel say "hi", "good morning" or greet us friendly. We arrived early and kindly asked to check in earlier if possible. The answer was a strict "No! There is no check in prior to three o'clock!" OK, we can take a "no" if there's good reason, but we'd like to be met by a smile, a simple hello, or at least someone who tries to make an effort to make it work. Is it to much to ask if they could check if the room was cleaned, or perhaps prioritize cleaning our room since we were the first guests to arrive (or so we assume since there were no other cars in the parking lot)? A "no" without even looking into it is really nonchalant in my book.||||Breakfast was OK with egg and bacon, cereal and various spreads, but I'd wish for a better selection of bread as they served only toast. Also, bread, plates, coffee ran out all the time. Considering the rather small amount of guests this is a mystery. The location for eating breakfast was nice on the terrace overlooking the docks.||||There was free WiFi, but it was shaky at best.||||It's borderline, but I'd recommend it for the good location in Mollösund and the nice room with a terrace (if you select their best option), but it's on the pricey side and don't expect to be blown away by...
Read moreWe had our wedding at Wärds in the summer of 2024, and we couldn't be happier! First of all, the location of Hotel Wärds, right in the heart of Mollösund, is absolutely stunning. Being in the Bohuslän archipelago is truly special. The scenery and the charming, picturesque village of Mollösund are wonderful. The close proximity of the church to Wärds was incredibly convenient as well.
What really stood out was the personal touch and exceptional service we received from the entire staff at Wärds, especially the owner. They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding was perfect, and we truly felt the extra effort put in to make it a day to remember.
Thank you, Wärds, for making our wedding on of the best days...
Read moreIf you do not expect a super hotel experience, but just a nice and simple stay in the best location - then this is a good place to stay. Simple bedrooms, but made cozy with local attributes and artifacts. It was clean, and comfortable beds. It is all very small, so you hear people going up and down stairs etc. The restaurant was full in the evening, a good sign and the fish dishes were tastefull. We had an electricity fall out during diner, and the staff was very friendly and saved relaxed. Things like that happen in these local costal villages I assume. Terrace is lovely on a sunny day. And the view from the restaurant behind the large...
