Beautiful park with animals that is like going through the best Swedish forest but combined with big enclosures for the animals. Some are easily spotted but some are close to impossible. But then again Nordens Ark has been working with endangered species for 30 years and this place is quite different from your normal zoo. So the animals wellbeing is put in front of our convenience.

Our kids are 2 and 3 y/o and even though they are so young they had a blast. There's some small activities all over the walk through the park so you're always close to a place to play or stop for a snack.

They have small trollies that you can hire for a small fee which is very convenient when you have got bags and small kids to drag around.

You can bring your own food and drink and there are designated areas where you can sit down and enjoy your picnic. They have a couple of small cafes with Swedish fika, hot dogs, ice cream and stuff like that.

Great place to go...

Please ignore the unintelligent negative reviews.

Information is bilingual (Swedish and English), but the English description may be a summary, but they have QR codes at the bottom of the information. Scan it for information in any language.

Parts of the park are not closed for renovation. They are expanding the park, trying to bring more animals.

The enclosures are not empty. The enclosures are huge and are made to mimic the animals' natural environment. So, animals may not be visible if you dont look around. Eg. Red Panda may be on top of a tree. Tigers may be sleeping behind a rock. Rodents may be inside their holes. If you want animals paraded for you, go to a circus or any zoos around the world that are animal prisons.

Diaper changing stations are at the main building but not at the portable toilets around the park.

The restaurant is amazing. Delicious food that includes salat, bread, and coffee. The staff is...

It’s difficult to leave a clear review, as my feelings about this place are quite mixed.

The park itself is huge and located in a beautiful area. The grounds are very well-maintained and clean, making it pleasant to walk around. There are plenty of restrooms throughout the park and even a small café where you can take a break. The animals look healthy and well cared for, which is great to see — but unfortunately, there aren’t very many of them. For kids, there is also a small playground, which is a nice touch.

On the downside, the entrance fee feels overpriced, especially considering the limited number of animals and the overall impression.

My personal ratings: • Cleanliness and comfort — ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ • Healthy and well-kept animals — ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ • Number of animals — ⭐⭐⭐ • Emotional experience — ⭐⭐ • Price — ⭐⭐

Nordens Ark is exactly what it states to be, and spot on! It has a nice, regular non-luxury hotel, very clean mind you, but that's perfect. It's an escape from home, which doesn't consist of misplaced luxury. The food was amazing. There is only one meal on the dinner menu, and one dish for children. Last time we visited it was cod. I'm not a big fan of fish, but what an amazing meal it was. Lunch was a dish of lamb, which melted on my tongue. The park is not as big as other zoos; counting the number of animals, but the animals in the park really appear to be happy there. You get the feeling that the park is there to host and care for the animals, not the visitors; and isn't that a great feeling to get while visiting? I've brought my family there twice, and we will be back again.

Nice place, with a good amount of animals to see. +Clean and easy to find the way +Nice animals in large cages +Tiger cages are built into the stone. Really nice for them to climb. -only little information in English (seems like foreigners are not really welcome) -half of the park is being renovated, and there was no hint before entry. But entry price is the same. -no diaper changing spot in the park (you have to go back to the entrance) -half of the cages was empty (frogs, farm animals) would be nice to know how many animals life in there and why you can't see any.
