I recently had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Södra Berget in Sundsvall, and overall, it was a delightful experience. Situated in a stunning location with one of the best views in Sweden, this hotel offers a serene and picturesque environment. Although I didn't have the fortune of enjoying the views from my room, the surroundings alone made my stay worthwhile.
One of the standout aspects of my stay was the cleanliness of the rooms. The hotel's housekeeping team deserves commendation for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness throughout the premises. Upon entering my room, I was greeted with a fresh and inviting atmosphere, which added to the overall comfort of my stay.
Another highlight of Hotel Södra Berget is its affordability. Considering the exceptional location and the quality of service provided, the price I paid for my stay was very reasonable. It's always refreshing to find a hotel that offers excellent value for money, and this establishment certainly delivers in that regard.
The dinner and breakfast options at the hotel were also noteworthy. The meals served were delicious and well-prepared, showcasing the culinary expertise of the kitchen staff. Whether it was the delectable dinner dishes or the hearty breakfast spread, the hotel ensured that guests were well taken care of in terms of dining options.
While my stay was mostly exceptional, there was one minor aspect that could be improved upon—the size of the rooms. I found my room to be slightly on the smaller side, which may not be ideal for those seeking extra space during their stay. Additionally, I was disappointed to discover that my room didn't offer the picturesque views I had hoped for. However, it's worth noting that this may have been a unique case, and other rooms might offer the desired scenic vistas.
Despite these minor concerns, Hotel Södra Berget remains an excellent choice for travelers seeking a comfortable and memorable stay in Sundsvall. Its idyllic location, cleanliness, competitive pricing, and delightful dining options make it a standout establishment. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, keeping in mind that room size and...
Read moreThe most beautiful hotel lobby I've ever seen - right up my alley! I could easily have spent the entire stay (two days) in that lobby, beside the fire place. It had a scandinavian forest vibe to it, loved it.
It didn't stop there though. It followed by a lovely restaurant with an amazing view over the entire town. Food there was very good, but the wait was long. We were basically the last group ordering food and the kitchen was soon to be closed, but we still had to wait quite a while. Our waitress was new and somewhat inexperienced and made us wait for our wine until we were almost done with our mains (had to go look for the staff and ask for it). Quite expensive, but still worth it. Breakfast was impressive and it had much to offer. Many types of bread, veggies, yoghurts, pancakes and eggs in all forms. Was just enough for me atleast.
Wasn't as excited about the rooms, cause they were honestly pretty boring and basic. There were two seperate beds, a tiny desk in one corner and a not so comfy armchair in another. Oh yeah, there was a tiny table with a kettle and a kit for coffee/tea as well, but that's that. Bathroom must've been renovated pretty recently though, it was really fresh and had a nice modern design. No schampoo/conditioner/body lotion though, which kind of dissapointed me.
What surprised me was the arcade part of the hotel. There's bowling, lasergame, Prison Island (similar to Escape Rooms), some arcade games and much more. The bar there had reasonable prised alcohol as well, which is always nice before you head back to your room for your beauty sleep.
All in all a very cosy hotel up in "the mountains", where the view just is something else. Gotta see it...
Read moreThe hotel doesn't provide a correct information of location ( it's on the top of the hill) & the road to the hotel is very tight, with a lot of speed bumps & has such a slope that it does not allow cars towing heavy trailers or caravans to climb. But when you face a problem to reach this hotel, the staff recommends you "to translate the name of the hotel" instead of support & understanding. Unfortunately, I booked this hotel for my husband on 05/07 at 18:00 but at 23:00 I had to inform the hotel that he could't come physically or technically because in 2km to the hotel his car got seriously damaged ( he was driving a strong car with full loaded trailer but it was impossible to reach this hotel & also to turn back). Finally, we got a huge trouble how to solve the problem with evacuation, the hotel charged 100% & totally refused any other solution, my husband after 16h driving had to spend a night in the car. Apart from that, in my communication with hotel was offered a permanent business cooperation (our company opens a new site in Sundsvall) & our engineers has to visit Sundsvall often & to have accommodation but the hotel refused this offer as well which let me think that they are totally not interested in one-time & permanent customers. Of course it's absolutely pity position & attitude but for sure to get understanding, support, respect , getting solution in this or that inconvenient situation, professional attitude are not about this hotel, as I see the target is to catch a quick & easy money. (I am able to make an opinion about professionalism or not because I worked more than 15 years in travel & hospitality fields on key positions & I know how it works...
