Magasinet Härön — Hotel in Tjörns kommun

My wife and I just held our wedding dinner at Magasinet Härön, and it had to be one of the best meals I've had in my life. They started us off with a Maine lobster salad appetizer with pistachios, raisins, pine nuts, and präst cheese, and it was truly out of this world, way better any lobster salads I've had in Maine (and I lived there for four years!). We were then treated to a main course of roasted halibut with basil sauce, and mashed potato. Typically, I find halibut to be a bit too tough, but the chefs managed to make it so flakey, and melt-in-your mouth good! Finally they topped our meal off with a slice of chocolate mud cake that wasn't for feint of heart. This was serious cocoa, and it complimented the sweetness of the strawberries on top of it perfectly! A special shout out to Johannes, who paired all three courses with delectable drink choices. You could tell that Johannes takes his craft seriously, because every selection was simply perfect! Restaurant. : beautifully situated between heaven and nirvana. We came between times, and so it was the shrimp salad that is as ubiquitous in Sweden as beer in a pub. The shrimps were the standard, high standard and the bread good. The pre scrambled egg was a first, but not an issue. Between the eggs, shrimps and copious Mayo, inhaled at a great rate, followed instantly by a 6/10 chocolate cake, we were a little "digestively overwhelmed". Vill du äta här så beställ bord, för även om det finns gott om plats inomhus så låter man inte 4 vuxna med en trött och hungrig 2,5-åring få plats. Vi beställde en barnportion med några köttbullar och friterade potatisar och en halv pappersmugg med gräddsås to-go för 125 kr. Dom fick han äta i vagnen på väg till färjan. Och borden som stod tomma ute när vi kom en timme tidigare var fortfarande tomma när vi gick! Att man skulle ha skyltat på fastlandssidan med att det var fullbokat, är bara en efterkonstruktion. Det fanns inte en enda skylt vare sig där eller vid restaurangen som visade att det var fullbokat. Nej man "över"-lever nog mycket på sikt rykte.
