The pictures on the website show large, beautiful apartments with several floors. The description also states that all apartments have fully equipped kitchens. When booking, you can choose between apartments close to the sea, or close to parking. It is also stated that there is a reception, open all day. ||When booking there are large price differences, which can be perceived as a difference in view, size and location. The website has no pictures of the houses where you are accommodated. ||Mostly, the apartments are only on one floor. Many in the basement, with limited view. None of them are close to the sea, or close to the parking. It is more than 1000 meters to both sea and parking. The kitchen is only partially equipped and the apartments do not have ventilation. There is very poor sound insulation between the apartments. The website indicates that all the apartments has a balcony or a terrace, but several of the apartments that are located in the basements, lack a terrace. The reception is only open for a couple of hours a day, otherwise all communication must be via the staff at the hotel bar. The prices of accommodation and dining are far above the average for hotels in Sweden, but you get no more quality or service because of this. In the restaurant, tables are often reserved for non-hotel guests. Which makes it difficult for paying hotel guests to eat in the there. You have to pay extra to use the hot-tub, pool and sauna. The nearest grocery store (Town, shops etc) is at least a 25 minutes drive...
Read moreThe location itself is amazing, this being the view over the bay and out towards the sea - it really would be difficult to beat the view. Breakfast was also good, a good variety and good quality.||||The main thing though is that it's not a hotel - this wasn't clear on the site I booked on, but it's a cross between Centre Parks and AirBnB - you are renting someone's private room / apartment, but the bookings are controlled centrally - for us what this meant was that the owners belonging were stuffed into all the wardrobes, if I count there as being 3 full wardrobes, only half a wardrobe was usable, the rest had stuff like shoes / clothes etc. in it - for these prices I don't expect someone's shoes, and I do expect to be able to use the wardrobes.||||There were other things I didn't like, such as the décor (which was very frilly and ornate) and the quality of the bathroom (tiny and with fittings that didn't work etc.), and the parking is miles from the rooms, if it's raining you end up getting soaked picking up your car (I can see why they want to keep the cars away from the main area, but there is away and far away, and I don't want to get soaked getting to my car).||||Finally, for the price, I don't expect to have to clean the room and take out my rubbish at the end of the stay.||||Not for me I'm afraid, I'm going to make sure I'm booking proper hotels from now on...
Read moreWe stayed at Bokenäset for four nights. All apartments have sea view. The apartments are basic but the relaxing location makes your stay worth it.|We arrived on a Monday night after 08h00 PM. The hotel was aware of our flight arrival time, hence late arrival at the hotel. Upon arrival we found out that the restaurant is closed on Monday and there is nothing else in the area. The website did not give that insight. We would have appreciated notification in advance. They offered a shrimp sandwich but my partner is allergic to shrimp so our diner was a granola bar which we brought ourselves.|The other nights the restaurant is open and serves one menu, which is OK, not great.||The sauna in the jetty is fantastic. Excellent view and the cold pool is a jump in the fjord. There is another sauna and pool in the hotel building which also has a lovely view. Fresh fruit was made available in the bar. |At the moment massages are not available yet but perhaps a nice expansion of the offer.||We rent a kajak for a couple of hours which is very relaxing. Suggestion to the hotel is to make available a small waterproof container for...
