Broken logic Quality hotel Vänerborg

It starts with the name of these hotels. It’s not logic. You can call your hotel chain Quality, but if you don’t deliver, it’s just sad. This is the second “Quality” hotel on our route, and both should be called Smelly, Old, Ugly, Hot and Dirty Hotel. This might be too long, so Disappointing Hotel might suffice.

TUI and Nordic Tours in their infinite wisdom planned this hotel for two days of our precious holiday. This hotel is not pleasant for holidays. The swimming pool is depressingly smal (then don’t have one…) and depressing is the best way to describe our stay.

There is no law that says highway hotels should be of this kind of (sad) quality, on the contrary, but Nordic Tours seems to be able to find the most depressing hotels and book them for two nights for their clients.

The room was warm, because the sun had been shining on it during the whole day at 26 gr. C. It would have been logical to shut the blinds, but logic is broken in this hotel and there is no love in it. Even the employees do not love this hotel. Part of the floor in the lobby (to the elevator to all the rooms) was broken and has been for some time.

It’s not all that is broken. The list is long, but I will give some more examples. If you think it is a good idea for your Q-hotel to buy the cheapest plastic toilet seats on the market, change them when one is broken or if your personnel is no longer able to clean them. A yellow glow on relevant parts is not considered Q. Our toilet seat also seemed to love some of my body hair (not even that hairy). First time that ever happened. The floors and tiles are very dirty, black between the tiles is not a sign of Q.

The really ugly lamp had a facelift by painting it partly black, but that only added to the sadness of the room. The douche tiles in the shower were probably leaking so they were partly tiled over. Everything looks and feels as cheap as the toiletpaper. Even there is no Q.

Only on heating was not saved. Even though there was a heat wave outside, the heating in the bathroom was hot. No logic there either. Even though outside the temperature dropped inside the room it stayed extreme hot, even though the window was open. This gave an unsafe situation as there was a roof outside our window and people could climb in. As there was much noise bouncing of the walls, this did not add to the Q.

Cheap hotels still can have a great level of quality, especially when owners, managers and personnel put love in their hotel and their guests. This hotel has no logic and no love. The way to the relax and wellness area was through a basement like hallway where the employees were collecting waste and dirty laundry. We actually had to step over waste to get to the pool. After a look we declined the use.

Of course, when you book through Nordic Tours you get standard rooms, so there is no nice view, although this view was particularly bad.

We did not sleep well. Also breakfast was no party as we had hoped. It looked nice, with some fresh fruit and freshly prepared food, but cookies and crackers were often stale. Eggs and bacon and things like that were fine and there seemed to be some logic in the buffet. It didn’t feel very crowded. However, ables were sticky (fresh sweet waffles tend to do that to a place) and some of the china (almost all bowles for the yoghurt) was (again) broken.

As we became particularly unhappy, we felt obligated to find ourselves another hotel. Another day and night was no option. Even though the room was paid for for two nights we took our loss. Our holidays are rare and precious, and this part was lost (not the first time with this agency).

Arrived here last night the website pictures dont do it justice.Beautiful hotel right next to the river.Unfortunately we had to prioritise a room close to the lift so we didnt get such a good view.The room was spotlessly clean and had tea making and coffee in the room.We booked through riskov.no and paid just over kr 1800 for two nights half board which is very reasonable for sweden. kind and friendly staff speaking perfect english.Breakfast had every thing you could think of including scrambled egg bacon and sausages.On arrival we found a little pizza place just down the road passed the hotel good food and beer and wine also very good prices.The evening meal on our package was the dish of the day which was very nice too.They also serve a lovely lunch buffet for kr99 looked very proffesional. would i stay here again thats a...

Room warm as a sauna , 27 deg outside gives 27 deg inside , only a plastic fan to get air to move. As a bonus they have the towelheater maximized hot in WC . Rooms standard environment is lower then other in the hotelgroups standard level , really basic spartan furniture without any class. Also no info before that they rebuild the area outside and closed - now everything is inside a warm hotel . ( Hello 2025 and no AC areas- Put out some fans for example, as other restaurants do ?! )

Coming from other Quality hotels standard, this feels like camping level or a boot camp for kids in a football tournament - but full payment charge as a QUALITY hotel.
