Mathias Kök & Rum — Hotel in Vårgårda kommun

Run by a couple where Mathias is the owner. Good restaurant, staff very pleasant, good beer selection. Room not dirty but the floor is dusty and there is no self service broom. The room is quiet spartiate. Shower usually broken, the water leaks on the floor. Common space available to socialise (old microwave and refrigerator (none in the room) available), laundry very cheap. Break fast is a small buffet, bare minimum, menu never changes, you might get fed up if you stay a while. The information posted in the room about opening hours is obsolete. Password required to get in the hotel, it was not sent to me with my reservation confirmation so I had trouble to get in a Sunday night the first time. There is a small pool for an added fee, I think the fitness center if off limits without a contract. Recenserar BARA lunchen och utifrån att jag äter lunch här löpande samt på många andra ställen i Sverige. Lunchen består av en buffé med två till tre rätter samt en enastående grönsaksbuffé (för en lunch för det priset). Generellt är det modern Svensk husmanskost på menyn vilket då förutom traditionella rätter numera inkluderar ”Nasi Goreng”, ”Gremolata-fisk” mm. Detta gör att man kan få de proportioner man vill ha, kan äta sig lagom mätt och maten är av god kvalitet och är vällagad.

Det finns ett Vegan/Vegetariskt alternativ men jag hade nog hellre tagit av grönsaksbuffén om jag hade haft den åkomman.

Det är mycket få lunchrestauranger inom en 15 mils radie som erbjuder en bättre lunch med en såpass fin mat och stor grönsaksbuffe. Plus för mycket trevlig personal och ägare samt en mycket fin miljö inne.

Det som är lite negativt är att Restaurangen ligger inne i en ful byggnad (kommunhuset) och inne i Vårgårda så ingen direkt estetisk upplevelse. Se dock förbi det yttre så är detta en av de 10 bästa luncherna du kan få i Västra Götaland. Särskilt om man betänker att det kostar bara drygt...

Nice serviceminded staff. Uncomfortable beds. Clean rooms and good shower with decent flow of water. Tasty breakfast with excellent bacon and scrambled eggs.
