Marsfjäll Mountain Lodge — Hotel in Vilhelmina kommun

We had been travelling around Sweden and having a very hectic time for three weeks when we decided to escape to Saxnas to enjoy the northern wilderness. We came during the off season, so we were two of the hotel's only four guests. The owners, Anders and Ingela, were wonderfully accommodating, fun and friendly. Even though the restaurant was closed, we were allowed to join in on a fantastic dinner that a group of locals had arranged, and they were quick to offer advice on where to go and what to do in the area. Great place and great people 👍 Perfect both summer and winter, even though we've just been there in the winter. Perfect spot for going out in the snow on your snowmobile, and perfect for hiking tours, both by foot and bike. Old rooms in a modern style. Everyday dinner-buffet or choose from the menu. It's a bar at the loft where they have after-scooter hours until dinner is served around 17-18 (don't remember), and they have a big screen where they show scooter/snowmobile movies. Camping is nothing special, essentially a gravel car park with decked areas for campervans and grassy corner surrounded by trees for tents. But, it was nice enough for one night; convenient location for Vildmarksvägen and, after several nights of more remote camping, it was a nice opportunity for a cold beer from hotel bar.
