This was a last minute booking and what a fantastic surprise! The staff were so friendly even though we were typically British with our German language being so poor. My wife is gluten intolerant and despite the varied set menu for the day not being suitable and us arriving late, i.e. just before the restaurant closed, they still produced her a delicious salad main course and a fruit salad pudding. Myself, they supplied me exactly what I ordered in abundance.
The fact that children are so well catered for was incredible - a playroom with toys and magazines for them; a special area in the restaurant for them to get their own cutlery and crockery if they wanted; fun areas throughout - a breath of fresh air in hotel terms 👍

The bathrooms very generously sized (which is important when traveling with teenage girls!). However, THE VIEWS from this hotel make it worth the out of the way location. About an hour from Lucerne it was worth the bus ride to get there. Breathtaking is the only word I can use to describe how beautiful it is here. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lots of great hiking trails nearby, with a beautiful waterfall about an hours hike away. If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the...
Read moreI would recommend, without hesitation, the Alpina Hotel. I stayed for a week in September with a group of 30 ladies (Trefoil Guild). I was impressed with all the staff who worked hard, were always pleasant, and very helpful. There was a good atmosphere. Our room was spacious, well equipped, with comfortable beds and a good en-suite. The hotel was very clean. We had breakfast and dinner which were very good. Children were obviously welcomed as there were lots of play attractions for them. Whilst the rooms did not have tea making facilities, the attractive entrance area provided facilities for self service drinks and snacks. ||The local bus into Adelboden stopped...
