First of all the location is at one end of town, with the last bus leaving at 7pm. Secondly, the old couple owning the joint were extremely uncourteous and rude. Due to some issue with our flight we requested if we could cut one day stay and we were told quite rudely that even if we left a day earlier, we would be charged, In fact the exact phrase used was "that's not our problem".The next day when we were waiting at bus stop, the woman came running after us to ask if we were checking out as she had given our room to somebody else. We were shocked to hear that as last night they had told us we couldn't check out earlier else no refund. And it wasn't possible to get a new hotel now. For breakfast we were served a plate with 1.5 boiled egg, 3 slices watermelon, 3 slices cheese. When we asked for more eggs, she rudely said that "this is enough for three people. If you wanted more, you should have booked a 5-star hotel". The room we were given was in basement which reeked of a shady smell with no window view. On asking if we could get a better room, we were told that "take it or leave it".There was no wifi in the rooms as opposed to what was advertised on the website and included in the room rent. Wifi was only available in the lounge. At night when we came back from the city and were using the wifi, we were told that it was their time to close up and we need to vacate the area immediately (the lounge). To quote "this is enough now, you need to leave. You can use the wifi tomorrow". There are much better hotels in the city centre with the station close by. Since Interlaken is beautiful, the view from the hotel is not a rare commodity and absolutely not worth a stay at a hotel where you end up feeling insulted and like the owners are doing you a huge favour instead of treating you like paying guests. And from the looks of it, it didn't seem like they were doing well as we barely saw a couple of guests the whole time. It's simply...

Read moreThe hotel itself has a beautiful view of the lake and mountains. I found it to be quaint and charming and clean. We had a good amount of space for three people! It does look a bit outdated, but I liked the feel of it-I felt like I was staying at my grandma’s house! The location is okay—you need to take the bus to get into Interlaken, which you are given free bus passes for. However the busses do not run late, and we had to take a very expensive taxi back to our hotel at night. Switzerland is very expensive, and this is a reasonably priced hotel where you can save some money! The breakfast I think is disappointing as others have said, but I wasn’t expecting much. I like a big American breakfast, and that is not found in European hotels! Also, the owners were nice enough to make our breakfast for us the night before when we told them we would be leaving very early the next morning! I liked the old couple who ran the place. The old man kind of has a sarcastic sense of humor, and I can see how others may have found him rude. However, he and his wife were kind to us, and we had an overall great stay! Definitely a great place to stay if you’re on a budget! If you’re looking for 5 stars-go elsewhere & be willing to spend a...
