Capanna da l'Albigna CAS — Hotel in Bregaglia

Honestly the gondola lift up to this place was a bit scary for my taste. The hike to the hut is less than an hour once you reach the dam. If i was a rock climber I would rate this place 5 stars for sure. I love the concept but with almost 90 bunks it was a bit too institutional for my taste. Also there was a malfunction with the gondola lift and even though I huffed and puffed my way to the top the place was done with their lunch hours so I couldn't get a hot bite to eat. Too bad. It was ok but too many people and the room at night got extremely hot because we had to close the window...

Beautiful location overlooking the glacier, lake, and valley below. The big surprise was the dinner — huge selection of fresh salads, homemade pestos and spreads…more like a Mediterranean feast, but up 2300m in the Alps, dining wiyh friendly people and families. It was a rewarding (and steep) 3 hour hike from the valley to the house, and easy to reach other trails to explore...

La capanna si trova in una bellissima posizione a circa 45 minuti dalla funivia che dal fondovalle porta alla diga dell'Albigna. Panorama sulla diga e sulle circostanti montagne (la punta Albigna di fronte al rifugio). Ottima la cucina. I gestori Annamaria e Martin sono molto ospitali e simpaticissimi. Il rifugio è la partenza per escursioni (giro della diga, passo del Casnile, passo Cacciabella..) ma anche per intraprendere vie alpinistiche come la cima di Castello.
