Le Vieux Chalet — Hotel in Château-d'Oex

Le Vieux Chalet is a cozy B&B with 18 rooms. We stayed with 4 little kids in room 12 which was very spacious and charming. Gorgeous views from the sky-window and views over the terrace. || Clean and comfy sheets and nice pack-n-play crib for baby. ||||Amenities such as soap / shampoo could be a bit more sophisticated and some minor maintenance in bathroom could help.||||Best part was breakfast. Just very nice, caring service and made-to-order eggs. Felt lots of heart which is why we like B&B vs hotels.||||Would help to have local "activities" guide. We did enjoy the hike across Pont Turrian the oldest suspension bridge in Romany Switzerland and the walk to the Ramacle Waterfalls. Traditional Swiss chalet style hotel with free parking. Host André and his family are very helpful. He suggests interesting places to visit and restaurants nearby for our family. Btw, the restaurant he suggested serving hamburgers is excellent. Owner is from South Africa and he uses high quality beef for the burgers. One of the best I've ever tasted. Guests can also buy simple food to eat for dinner in the dinning room. Hotel rooms are spacious. Bathrooms are small but clean. Good breakfast with lot of choices. I spent a week at the Vieux Chalet and had the most amazing stay. The Bach Family are so welcoming! The chalet is clean, warm and cosy and I cannot wait to go back! Breakfast each day was wholesome and filling with plenty of options including freshly cooked eggs and bacon. They also had vegan and GF options. The communal areas are lovely and traditional, the lounge has a large fireplace too. There is also the added bonus of a games room for the kids!
