Romantik Hotel & Restaurant Sternen — Hotel in Kriegstetten

Quite good hotel having long time traditions. Refurbished. Hotel restaurant good, service polite and meals also good.||Hotel staff was very polite and attentive. The hotel has quite pleasant atmosphere of rural countryside. It is located nearby the cemetery (dont warry, the deads can not do any harm) and/ but also at the local church. The church's bells are noisy (also during nights) what may be annoying for those with worse sleep (my case).||Hotel breakfast was average (not big meal selection, and you probably will have to ask the breakfast service for adding the missing components). But the breakfast service is very polite, too.||Hotel garden is nice because it is kept in some way of the "natural" garden, what I like. So do not expect any neatly trimmed lawn, etc., but - at least for me - this natural garden belongs to Swiss countryside.||Parking is OK. Together with our neighbours we were looking forward to a great dinner. The whole experiencing was very disappointing. The Solothurner wine soup was not tasteful, the salat dressing was very watery and the venison was just not prepared well. The rehschitzel was really dry, while it should be juicy and tender. All the dishes were missing a certain personal signature from the cook, instead they were rather blend in taste. Even the french fries and spätzli were not good. |Service was friedly but not attentive. We had to wait 10 minutes until until the bottle of white wine was brought to the table after we ordered. I can only hope that this was one time thing because it was Friday the 13th, but we will never know because we will not be visiting this...

on your way between Bern and Zürich or Basel, close to Solothurn, you just take the exit Kriegstetten, and you'll be in the small village of Kriegstetten in a minute. The old and renowned Romantic Hotel Sternen is the place to stay!
