This hotel had been on our bucket list since it's opening and as the prices in summer are considerably lower than during the rest of the year, we decided spontaneously to spend the a few hiking days n the Jura. We loved the modern, very unique architecture of the building and the design inside the hotel. The rooms are spacious with a beautiful view; the beds comfortable, the bathroom top. We ate in the Brasserie on our first evening - again, it's a beautiful room with extraordinary design details. It felt a bit crowded, though, as it was a busy night (the tables are too close to each other). The food was nice, but...|Well, now I must address the disappointing part of our stay: the service of the restaurant staff was not professional enough for a 4-star-hotel. I'm not sure if those friendly young people were students of a hotel school (in which case I'd be more understanding) or if they just didn't get the proper training to work in gastronomy. Guest are kept waiting, orders are forgotten, wine is not poured, etc. etc. I wonder if it would be the same experience had we eaten at the "Table des Horlogers", the minchelin-starred restaurant that wasn't open during our stay. We chose to get a drink and eat a bite at the outdoor space of the bar, which unfortunately was truly neglected and dirty. Generally, we missed a place to sit outside and get a coffee or just read a book on a sunny summer afternoon. |One last remark: has anybody of the management ever looked at the translation of the menu? In your room you'll find tablets with all the information about the hotel, the spa and the restaurants - you can choose your language (French, English, German and Italian). In all honesty, even a high school student could do better in translating the most basic food vocabulary! Sure, it was done by AI, but somebody should really take the time to go over it and correct it. Just one simple example (there are many more): "main course" in French = plat; in English = flat; in German = Wohnung; in Italian = piano. Ridiculous, isn't it?!|In conclusion I would recommend this hotel for 1-2 nights in winter time, maybe when you want to visit the Audemars Piguet...
Read moreDear Sir or Madam
I am writing to you in English and you will soon see why.
Firstly, I would like to thank you for your question. And I would like to emphasise that my small hiking group and I really enjoyed our stay in your hotel. The contrast between these wide, lonely Jura heights and the luxurious comfort of your location has a very special charm.
The rooms and the architecture are extremely impressive and beautiful. We also really enjoyed the atmosphere in the restaurant: The atmosphere was very cosy and fortunately not undercooled, as one might have assumed from the portrait on your website.
Now I would like to come to two points that definitely have room for improvement:
The wellness area
The wellness area is definitely too small. This is not about having more "fancy" showers or anything like that, but simply more space to relax after a sauna course, for example. There were four of us and after the first sauna course, everyone else but me cancelled the wellness experience because all the loungers were occupied. We also sadly missed the fact that it was not possible to go out into the fresh air after the sauna. I tried to get outside via the fitness room, but I was locked in. In addition, the reception of the wellness area was not staffed for long periods and someone was already going through the facilities with a hoover and rubbish bags before 7pm.
The bar and the service staff in general
We come from German-speaking Switzerland and also enjoy using our rudimentary school French. However, sometimes our ability to express ourselves fails and another language such as German or English has to be used. At such a moment, it is somewhat incomprehensible that we were told several times during our stay: "Sorry, I speak French ONLY!". I mean, you work in high gastronomy... We were also in the bar before dinner and had to wait a good half hour for our drinks. The drinks were only 4 glasses of Prosecco - and not complicated cocktails.
Thank you for your brief response and good luck...
Read moreFrom the moment we decided to visit the acclaimed project by BIG, my expectations were high, yet the actual experience far surpassed what I had imagined. The architectural prowess, both inside and out, initially caught my eye with its awe-inspiring beauty. However, my understanding of the hotel's design was superficial at best, until a conversation transformed my entire perspective.
Andre, possibly the general manager, whose passion and knowledge about the hotel's design intricacies made all the difference. The hotel's design elements are deeply rooted in the designer's childhood memories and a profound respect for nature. From the reception desk, inspired by fossil shells, to the chandeliers mimicking the reflection of an upside-down lake, every detail told a story far richer than I had initially perceived.
What struck me the most was the hotel's commitment to sustainability and local community support, highlighted by their use of raw cooking materials sourced directly from the neighborhood.
I cannot recommend the architectural tour enough. And I give my heartfelt thanks to Andre and the entire staff for an...
