桶後(后)越嶺是烏來山區三大古道之一，位於台北烏來與宜蘭礁溪之間，桶後溪營地、桶後越嶺步道登山口，位於桶後林道13公里處，目前桶後林道可全線通車，一般轎車也可抵達。 當地的停車位（路邊不影響會車的位置，約30個）及營位較少，故出發、抵達時間必須儘量提早。 此處「無」公共運輸可達，必須自行開車或包車、共乘前往。 此處適合野炊、戲水、露營、登山健行…活動， 更是登山健行的熱門路線。 「桶後越嶺」沿途風景秀麗，自然環境保持良好、生態豐富，在春夏之際可看到許多蝴蝶翩翩飛舞，還有禽鳥遨翔天際；初夏夜晚，螢火蟲穿梭草叢間，蛙聲四起，熱鬧非凡，沒走過桶後越嶺，真是不知台北溪流之美！
