I am a Singaporean, and I went there with my Canadian wife about a week ago. ||Despite being from two different cultures and having varied expectations, this place managed to impress both of us. ||||Puli Story House houses a story in itself, and the owners are they type you wish were the ones who owned every single accommodation on the planet. They are warm, welcoming, helpful and passionate about what they do. Almost the entire place was constructed by the owners themselves, and their effort and love are plain to see. ||They want you to feel at home, and every room is it's own little paradise. ||Our room was the Mulan Room (deluxe), and it has it's own jacuzzi and steam spa! Let me repeat: Jacuzzi and Steam Spa! ||At the price paid, I highly doubt such amenities will be found anywhere else. ||Those items saved us at the end of a very long day up the mountains, and relieved our tired muscles instantly. ||||The location is right by a small river, and it is far enough from the centre of Puli but near enough for walking to get food. In fact, I strongly recommend taking a stroll along the main road, into the heart of town and experiencing the life of a little town right smack in the middle of Taiwan (Fact: the geographical centre of Taiwan is about one kilometre away from Puli Story House). We found this was a good way to relax and immerse ourselves into the local culture. ||||But back to the Story House. ||WiFi was strong throughout the accommodation, and breakfast is ordered the night before so they can be ready the next morning. The bedding was truly comfortable and the curtains thick enough to block out the midday sun. ||||Here's a little anecdote that epitomises our experience: we were new to Puli, and did not know where to go for dinner. We asked the owner for advice, and instead of dehumanising the interaction by simply pointing us to a place on Google Maps (which many others tend to do), he went one giant step further and drew us a cute little map that showed where the evening market was. We found it easily following the map and the food was wonderful. ||||If you play the piano, you're in luck. The owner customised a Volkswagon Beetle yellow Kawai grand piano (the only one of it's kind in the world) and you can just play to your hearts content, just because it's awesome. ||||Puli Story House is still a work in progress, but when it's done, this will be a masterpiece. And you should experience it...

The owner design and build the place by himself. And he is not an architect/builder by trade before he retire.
The owner share their story with us and their plan for the next few years. The provided breakfast is simple and nice. They also put some food at the counter for us to take in the afternoon.
The rooms are clean and I think very suitable for family with kids. We book 2 room and the 2 room design is different.
It is also around 7 to 10min walk to Feeling 18. Feeling 18 is a place that sell chocolate something like Royce. The boss open a Steak House, Japanese Steamboat, Bread shop and a cafe all within...
