森之秘湯 — Hotel in Renai Township

Do not go unless you’re super confident with your driving skills. Part of the road leading to the lodge was unpaved and unbelievably steep. It was not entirely safe to travel on the road. At some point the slope was too steep that our car could not get up the slope even with full power.

Onsen was okay. Plenty of living or dead insects lying in the outdoor bathtub so make sure you clean it before using. We felt a lot warmer after enjoying the onsen. However, considering the difficulty of accessing the lodge and that all onsens in the region probably come from the same source, we recommend going somewhere else more accessible.

We had the hotpot dinner provided by the lodge. When we made the booking, the staff asked us to start dining as early as possible so that they could have more time to rest and sleep before getting up early for preparing the breakfast the next day. We (as guests) acceded to their request and had an unusually early dinner at 6:30 pm. Much to our amazement, the staff attending to us kept talking to us (about politics as if he got a PhD in political science and international relations) the whole dinner time. We would not say he was disturbing us but we certainly expected a quieter dinner with private talks between friends. The staff was longwinded and dragged on the conversation until 8:30 pm when one of us could not stand it and asked to leave politely almost one hour after all of us finished our hotpot. Now the question is, since the staff could take the time to talk to us until 8:30 pm, what’s the necessity and urgency of asking us to start dinning at 6:30 pm instead of 7 pm or even 7:30 pm? We’re very much confused by the contradictory policy of the lodge and the performance of the staff.

Lastly, the countryside was filled with insects but the lodge did try its best to keep them out of the rooms. The condition of the rooms was fair in such a remote location. Electricity supply to the room was unstable at times. The cats were cute and willing to get close to...

I’ve been here twice already. The road leading to the place is rough and a bit challenging, but it’s definitely worth it. It’s one of the best places to stay—relaxing, peaceful, and perfect for unwinding. 很棒的民宿 室內有超大的溫泉池，豐沛的溫泉，剛換新的彈簧床 室外有準備廚具及餐具，要自己煮一桌或是辦烤肉聚會都很方便， 白天: 走路5分鐘就可以讓小朋友玩水，釣魚，溯溪，探勘溫泉源頭最上游還可以見識到勇士瀑布，這是一般登山客看不到的美景 如果喜歡登山也有武令山步道可攀登O型一圈約5~6小時 晚上:晚上可以看螢火蟲，無雲無月光的時候還可以看到銀河， 附近景點:開車20分鐘就可以到清境農場，40分鐘就可以到武嶺，或是合歡山主峰 民宿活動:激流獨木舟(好玩，刺激)

Great vacation hotel Indoor: There is an oversized hot spring pool, ample hot springs, and a new spring bed.
