Booked the Superior Quadruple Room for Mid-Autumn Festival holiday on Agoda. Hotel staff was very proactive by calling in advance to confirm arrival time and children necessities. But had a few issues with the stay and would not recommend if you have a sensitive nose.
Sewage Odor Everything was fine until we arrived at our room. The washroom was filled with sewage odor emitted from the drain. We ventilated the room and the smell dissipated for a bit. Got woken up the next morning by the strong sewage odor so we notified frontdesk. They sent staff to flush the drain while we are out for the day. When we returned to the hotel in the afternoon, the smell persisted even when we left the washroom door closed. Then we realized the AC ventilation was emitting the smell periodically as well. Notified the frontdesk again and was eventually notified that this is a common issue on the hotspring building rooms. We lived on the 3rd floor and the smell pretty much lingers through the hallway as well.
Not Kid Friendly Not sure if this is the case for every room but our room had a big piece of wood block bolted to the floor right infront of the TV (~20cm*10cm). Uncertain of the purpose of this wood block but it caused my child to trip over and banged his head on the table which is also right next to the block.
Aside from the two issues, we enjoyed our time at the hotspring with the kids.
I would like to thank the staff for bringing icepack when my child banged his head on the table. Additionally, I would like to thank the frontdesk staff Irene for helping us change our room to the other building on the last night...
Read moreThis is a review of the hot spring only. First impressions: the building is beautiful, modern and appears new. Second impressions: the receptionist who served me spoke perfect English and inquired if that was the langauge I would like to use. Third impression: the price is outrageous. NTD600, because - as the receptionist informed me - it was a holiday. I later found out this meant the weekend. Having said that staff were decked out in Halloween costumes which added a certain degree of holiday ambience to proceedings. Back to the price, and according to the web-site, the fee is NTD450 on weekdays and NTD550 on weekends. Kids are cheaper. I could have been slightly ripped off, or the web-site could have been out-of-date.||So if I was miffed about the price, why am I still giving it 5 stars? Two reasons: the facilities were huge (as Tawianese hot springs go), clean and varied; and the other punters were largely very friendly. One guy saw that I was a little lost upon arriving and took it upon himself to show me around. Delightful. Towels are provided, and hot and cold filtered water is on tap.||I, for one, will be returning, steep price...
