Dolly Farm & River Camp is absolutely a worthwhile alternative as your start or your end stop of your safari. Or, as in our case, just a break from "the ordinary" when you need some rest and some good food!

The location is great with the view over the river. Can be somehow difficult to find the place, but Google Maps is helpful. The tents are spacious, well furnished and comfortable.

The food is something extraordinary to be in Tanzania. Chef Lilly manage to bring out the best of all ingredients, making the meal a delight both for eye and mouth! Fresh produce from the farm dominates the menu.

We went to Dolly Farm & River Camp for lunch. They were kind enough to accommodate us, even though it was too early for dinner. We all agreed that Chef Lilly had prepared one of the finest meals that we had ever enjoyed. Everything from the fish and vegetables to the tarter sauce and desserts were popping with vibrant and complimentary flavors. Their service made us feel very welcome. We toured around the resort and were in awe of the tranquil beauty. The luxury tents looked inviting, and the lush, river front estate created a magical retreat. Im a sommelier, a foodnerd and I love new things, and oh boy is this magical place packed with many new and different things! I have never slept in an open solution before, while hearing the river, monkeys, birds, and bush-babies sing their song through the night. Especially not such a luxurious tent-solution!!!! The warmth and passion of the host is pure and unmatched in most places. The kitchen produced the best lavacake I ever had, and the food was absolutely incredible!
