Excellent location and great experience.
We stayed there for 3 nights to explore the surrounding national parks (Tarangire, Ngorongoro and Lake Manyara). I can totally recommend the lodge and to stay there longer than only one or two nights because it's nothing but just great.
Pros: they support the locals and also will build school(s) from the benefits of the lodge Amazing friendly and attentive stuff overall, for example Raffa, Ernest and Anita to mention some. They give socially deprived locals the ability to work there. Top! Great and tasty menu in the evening (starter, soup, main, desert). Good wine. I felt like in a Michelin star restaurant in Paris. Vegetarian food is available as well. Cheers to the chef! good and sufficient breakfast and lunch (to go is possible) lodges are mainly made of nature materials, f.e. wood and the lodges had a really good atmosphere we stayed in the "tiny house" and could see the stars through the transparent roof and hear the grasshoppers. You don't need a "go to bed and sleep well playlist" anymore ;) comfortable beds there will wait some hot-water bags in your bed for you, so that you can sleep even more comfy great view from the balcony fireplace to relax at the evening having a beer the lodge is about 20 minutes drive off the main road, so it's in middle of the nature which is really great to calm down and relax. Palms, bananas and the sound of pure nature everywhere. You can also take a short walk close the lodge to experience the local life and surrounding a pool will be build next year
Contras: the only contra I could mention is that there is only one Foresight Eco Lodge owned by and not several all over world because of the great concept :P
Cheers from Carla, Alina and Flo!

Read moreI really really really happy. Foresight rocks!!! My husband and I HAD A GREAT GREART time with foresight, not only the room, the food, but the people there and their tours. When I plan my trip to Tanzania, we usually travel by ourselves, not with any agent, but after one month research online, I realized that it is not easy to travel by ourself here, so I have to book through agent, in order to get in national parks do game drive and transfer town to town, I contacted over 30+ local travel agent , the quote and plan were no big difference, I was lost, until I found foresight eco, I saw their school program, since I used to be a public school teacher, so I'd like to know better about the kind of business model, I did not know how real it was since it is all just internet, so I contact them, the more we talk , the better feeling I got, so we were not only booked rooms with they, but also the whole safari trip, including day & night game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, several days in Serengeti, Ngorongoro, also a visit to school, it was real real, it was real that I felt shame that I judge programs like this because when I was actually there I saw their efforts with my own eyes. Beside this goodwills, just about the trip, it was beyond our expectation, with their modest but perfect vehicle, the best tour guide and driver Rapha, who was so so so passionate with nature, truly love animals and people, very young and talented Rapha, we had a great time, we saw everything, literally, everything, if you were a true nature lover, not just to photo taking tourist, I guarantee that you are going to connect with Tanzania through them, through Rapha. I definitely will come back, this must be one of the unique accommodation place and tour company in Tanzania,...
Read moreWe could have stayed at Foresight forever! It's important to us to support local communities so we love that Foresight is co-owned by a local Tanzanian and that it supports programs that benefit the community. It's nestled on a hillside just outside Ngorongoro Conservation Area, so it feels very natural while having all the amenities to make sure you're comfortable. The views are beautiful (we stayed up stargazing on our deck at night), and the sounds of wildlife lulled us to sleep. The cottages were very thoughtfully built, with big windows, comfortable beds, and lots of little details. In addition to being a beautiful place to stay, the staff at Foresight is fantastic! The owner, Ernest, is a font of knowledge about Tanzania and he invites guests to sit around the fire in the evening and chat. We learned so much from him! His son also noticed that we were trying to learn Swahili, and went out of his way to teach us. All of our meals were delicious and the chef checked in with us to make sure we were happy. A staff member even put hot water bottles under our bedcovers each night (it gets cold there at night since it's at high elevation - bonus is that it's too cold for mosquitoes!).
We also booked a safari into Ngorongoro Crater through Foresight and our guide was fantastic! We absolutely cannot wait to go come back here. We stayed in one of the family tents (bigger than we needed for just the 2 of us but it was what was available when we arrived, and it's gorgeous! Would be perfect for a family with kids). Really want to come back and stay in one of the couples cottages or the tiny house, which looked so dreamy. We've spent a lot of time in Tanzania, and this...
