We stayed at Haven Nature as part of a pre-organzied safari trip through Tro Peaks (awesome company, BTW). They stay at Haven Nature a lot, it seems. The main host, Israel, was attentive and made sure to put our beds together once he realized we are a married couple and wanted to sleep together. Since it wasn't too crowded, they even let us move to a bigger/nicer tent for the second night we were there. The food is VERY plentiful and decent for what we experienced in Tanzania. Soups to start each dinner, and lots of eggs, bread, fruit, etc. ||We were not pleased when we had a tiny bag of laundry done (literally a couple shirts and a pair of jeans) and Israel charged us $10USD for it --- we paid him with hesitancy (we used to live in West Africa, and we knew he was ripping us off). Then we we told our driver, who said, no no that's not right, so he went and spoke to Israel who reimbursed us at least five dollars. Again, the cost was not the issue, it was the fact that our driver said they typical charge a dollar an item, and so he knew that this was cheating us. We don't want folks in the tourism industry to think they can do that to every foreigner. ||The bathrooms were rugged -- mostly outside, but it is, as expected, a camp. Lots of bugs, and some of the toilet seats were broken. The layout is lovely, with nice trees and pathways to walk through with beautiful flowers. It's close to a couple different National Parks, which made it a nice place to stay.||They did have wifi at the main eating area -- it worked sometimes. ||Lots of birds and bugs around singing while you sleep! (which could be...
Read moreStayed here one night between safaris in Tarangire and Serengeti. The campgrounds include several tent sites, a centrally located bathroom facility, a kitchen building for cooking, and a few large pavilions with tables for dining all scattered throughout a shady woody area. Attendants welcomed us and assured us that the premises are monitored by security guards. The bathrooms were clean with sit-down toilets and a couple shower stalls. Our accommodation was a sturdy tent on an elevated platform beneath a thatched hut. The tent had two fairly comfortable cots and outdoor lighting under the hut. The night was quiet even though there were a handful of...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed here twice (one night each) during our safari tour. We really enjoyed this place. The tents were big enough to accommodate both us and all our things and the beds were surprisingly comfortable. There is a shared bathroom with showers that wasn't too far from our site. We really enjoyed the outdoor atmosphere, and we got to experience some wildlife that way. Although it wasn't very busy while we were here, it was well set up to accommodate a lot of people. It had a large dining are and lounge. The lounge was a great place to relax, hang out and socialize with...
