This was one of the last places I stayed before the end of my Safari tour and is located not far to Ngorongoro National Park I have to say this place is definitely not a 3 star hotel and is definitely much better than that. Quite popular it seems, took quite some time to complete the check in process and got a staff looking after my luggage waiting for me to collect the room keys before showing me to my room. It was quite a walk to the room and just as I was complaining why the walk was so long, I realised the staff has brought me to the last one down the path which happened to be the biggest one in the lodge! I was so surprised this was the biggest accommodation I got throughout the tour and it has 2 double beds just for 1 person! Quite impressed with the size, took a tour to the bathroom and it looks big and clean too. I also have to mention the shower here has to be the best as the water pressure was pretty strong and also the change in the temperature of water is almost instant. Room was big, the only thing that I didn't really like was that the lighting was minimal. The place to put luggage had no light and was quite difficult to find things so I had to shift my luggage elsewhere, and the room can only be locked by a little lock from the outside and there was no way to lock once you are inside so I felt rather insecure though nothing happened throughout the stay. A very inviting pool and a very nice outdoor lounge and chilling area good for sunset, and its connected to the restaurant. Restaurant was pretty big and also linked to the reception where only these 2 places had wifi available. Staff were nice and friendly and food was decent, nothing to shout about. The only thing I wished they would improve would be the variety of dishes, which there were only 4 hot dishes available. A very nice lunchbox indeed which was packed for picnic, but was very carbs loaden. During check out was asked to do a survey and I put food as satisfactory and they were rather concerned about it. So far the one place I stayed with the least number of dishes. Not going to be too picky on that but really had a very good sleep. Too bad no time to enjoy the...
Read moreVery nice stay here. We were greeted with hand towels and welcome drinks. The tented lodge was beautiful with a separate bathroom and a wall of windows and glass door to the deck. A king sized bed, electricity for charging, drying racks, safe, sitting area, an electric kettle with teas and coffee, soap/shampoo/conditioner, tissues, multiple bath towels, and drinking water. They added a blanket and hot water bottles to the bed with turndown; that was extra nice! The deck had a beautiful view! The common area had a lot of indoor and outdoor seating, ok wifi, a coffee/tea station, and a bar. The pool area was beautiful and there is a very new infinity pool in addition to the original one. They brought us towels and took drink orders. The food was delicious; both dinner and breakfast buffets. Drinks were very reasonably priced. A campfire was made for sundowner, the sunset view was excellent, and they gave us popcorn then. The staff was kind and attentive. Four stars instead of five because he shower did go cold on us and it was very loud in the morning from about 5am on because our tent was right next to the common area; I would recommend requesting a tent further away. Overall, we had a...
Read moreThis was the second Simba Lodge we stayed at. We stayed here on 2 seperate nights. Our favourite room was leopard as the room felt more luxury. It had one double bed and one single. The second room we stayed at had 1 double and 2 singles.
Like the other Simba lodge there was no WiFi in the room. It was only available st the main lodge. Electricity was hit and miss for charging in the room but could be done at the main lodge.
The beds were comfortable and I slept well. Hot water was good as well. They have a turn down service whereby they put down the mosquito netting and extra blankets as it can get colder at night in November.
The food was good. It was a set menu served at your table. You were asked before hand what you wanted. We are vegetarian and they were more then accommodating. You can even ask for more if you want but for us it was too much food so didn't.
