Mawe Mawe Lodge offers a warm and heartfelt experience with an incredibly welcoming staff who ensure every guest feels at home. From the moment we arrived, we were guided seamlessly to our rooms and treated with genuine hospitality. The food was exceptional, accommodating all dietary needs with ease. They made good cocktails too. The rooms are spacious, and the dedicated spa pools in the heart of nature add a luxurious touch. While the presence of bugs in the rooms was a minor downside, the staff handled it promptly and professionally. Given the lodge’s proximity to the wild, this is understandable and part of the natural charm. Overall, a fantastic place to relax and connect with nature—recommended if you don’t mind bugs :) hey do not forget to tip the staff.

The hotel has an high potential but it is very bad maintained. The general quality of the structure is poor, no WiFi, o A/C, no hot water before and no water pump working beforw 5 pm = to have a shower you shall wait after 5!...when you go there after a safari is not what you would expect. no electricity after 10 = also the fan will not work. The pool in the room is like a hole in the soil, I project swimming pools and I would never ever enter in this water. Same consideration for the main pool. Nice to see them, but please avoid to swim there! In our room we had a broken window, mildew stains, and demolished part left below our balcony like in a landfill. For a 5 stars Hotel I would expect much more.

Amazing rooms, easily the best we stayed in during our two weeks in Tanzania on Safari. Rooms have a view of Lake Manyara , and are spacious and large. The bathrooms include a tub and shower, and our room had an outdoor shower as well. The plunge pool on the patio was a bit cool for our visit but is undoubtedly nice in warmer weather. We did have some occasional issues with hot water that were resolved by calling the front desk and waiting 30 minutes. Food is excellent and clearly aimed at being more upscale than typical Safari fare. A bit of a bumpy road to get there, but the views and spacious rooms are worth it.

We were impressed by the beautiful setting and comfortable room during our three-night stay. The dining options offered some excellent dishes, especially vegetable soups and mixed vegetable side dishes. However, it was disappointing that we didn't feel warmly welcomed overall, and our small requests often led to awkward moments. It seemed that for the senior staff, guests' needs were not always given the attention they deserved (I would give 3.5 stars). The Masai and junior staff were ALWAYS friendly - happy souls.

There were a few downsides that we experienced during our stay:

We received the wrong food in our lunch boxes on both days after the game safari, which resulted in us having to find an alternative lunch option.

Although the side dishes at breakfast were tasty, the portion size was reduced. I particularly enjoyed the vegetable mix and mushroom options.

The condition of the bed was deplorable, and we had to request a mattress change on our last night.

While we observed a lovely traditional singing and dancing send-off for other guests during checkout, this gesture wasn't extended to us.

Additionally, we were surprised by an extra $12 charge for the laundry service which was then rectified.

We checked in a day earlier, agreeing on the price for that night while on our way to Mawe mawe lodge; however, at checkout, we were asked to pay a difference for that night. Again, awkward moments.

We hope this feedback can help improve the overall guest experience at the...
