Momella Lodge was good, average. Great location with straight on views of Mt. Kilimanjaro above the clouds at sunset. We stayed in one of the wood cabins, not the boma-style round huts (didn't see in these so can't speak to those accommodations). Each cabin separate, private, front porches with mtn views. Beautiful landscaping. Our room was older, shower leaked, but all else very comfortable, spacious, clean. King-size bed with mosquito netting, very comfortable. Electricity part-time, charging stations. Hot water when electricity on. No fans or AC, but wasn't needed even though hot. Restaurant good with buffet, perfect as we usually had too much food. Wine & mixed drinks. Met all our needs & would stay here again. We didn't try wi-fi... vacation means unplugging! Amazing stars with lights off at night. People very friendly & helpful. Their website pics...

The food was good - many roasted meats. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We woke up to see giraffes outside our windows. Unfortunately, the shower never got warm and the water flow was quite low. We were out away from the lodge during the day which was good. Perhaps a new owner will bring the lodge up to its...

We had the last bungalow and could rise early to take photos of the spectacular sunrise and views of Mt Meru and Mt Kilimanjaro . The lodge selection was made by our guide who has been here many times before. We heard that the owner had died and everyone was hopeful that the new owners will make some improvements. The biggest downside was the not warm shower water. the bathroom needs updating but was clean . It was our first experience with Tanzanian locals and they were delightful. it is private and serene and that is...
