The lodge is high up, at about 2300 metres, so it's colder than usual in Tanzania, the rooms are heated at night, but we were still freezing a little bit.
The room is large, comfortable and welcoming. From the small terrace in front of the room you can see the mountains and zebras grazing in the garden, water poles. Smoking is not allowed, you can smoke at the balcony. The rooms have a warning not to leave the room at night, as you may meet a hippo or an elephant in the yard. By the way we only saw some zebras at dawn.
The bathroom is fit for purpose, but modest. The desk in the room can work well, which is not typical of hotel desks in general. WiFi is only available at the restaurant, the bandwidth is quite small, good for browsing, less for downloading or uploading.
The cozy restaurant, the blazing fire in the huge fireplace gives a nice sight and a pleasant warmth. Dinner and breakfast is buffet style, you can have a large and delicious food selection, tea and coffee are always available for free. The restaurant staff is slightly careless and not quick to pick up the dirty dishes.
The terrace in front of the restaurant has a beautiful view of the wooded mountains of Ngorongoro and a pleasant place for sitting in the afternoon sun.

The lodge is surrounded by lush greenery and attracts a variety of wildlife throughout the day, like water buck
The rooms were comfortable, clean, and offer all the necessary amenities for a pleasant stay. The beds are cozy, ensuring a good night's sleep after a day of exploring the crater. Each room also features large windows, allowing guests to wake up to stunning views of the surrounding landscape.
The lodge's restaurant serves delicious buffet meals, with a variety of options to cater to different tastes. The food is freshly prepared and offers a mix of local and international dishes. The staff members are friendly, attentive, and always ready to assist with any requests or dietary restrictions.
The Wi-Fi access was limited, only at the restaurant. However, this can also be seen as an opportunity to disconnect from the digital world and fully immerse oneself in the beauty of the...
Read moreIt was our last night on the Safari, after Tarangire and Serengeti. Quite a different setup in this one!||While in the Tarangire and Serengeti we slept on Tents (glamping) here it was brick and mortar, but taking into consideration it's in the middle of a jungle it's quite needed! || ||We enjoyed a lot our stay at the Rhino Lodge, the reception was quite good, we had our luggage cleaned by the staff at arrival, top!||||Room had a fire which they lighted for us and got the room warm against the cold outside.||||From our room terrace, we saw 2 Waterbucks and from the restaurant terrace we saw some more, along with Zebras. At dinner time, the grass garden side-by-side with the restaurant was visited by Buffalos (many of them baby), wow, so awesome!||||Restaurant also had a fire on and was pretty cozy.||||Great stay and would highly recommend to anyone coming...
