Staying here felt just like visiting dear friends—with the perfect blend of comfort, warmth, and convenience. The location is unbeatable: just a short drive from the airport and Arusha city, yet quietly tucked away so you truly feel removed from the bustle. It’s the ideal launching point for adventures but gives you a peaceful “home base” vibe to come back to.
Right from arrival, Jacky and Vince made us feel like part of the family. Their warmth and genuine care were unforgettable—just the kind of hospitality you hope for but seldom find. And then there’s Jacky’s cooking…wow. The best home-cooked meals we had in all of Tanzania. Every dish felt comforting, delicious, and full of heart. I swear, I still dream about that food!
The rooms were a dream to sleep in—probably the most comfortable beds we’d ever experienced on our trip. Soft linens, good size, just the right quiet—each night felt luxuriously restful.
All in all, this place goes beyond being just a wonderful stay—it becomes a warm embrace after a day of exploring. Perfect for anyone wanting comfort, great food, and hospitality that stays with you long...
Read moreA first trip to Africa from Canada can be intimidating and destabilizing. But not when you stay at OYA and you are hosted by Jackline and Vincent. How is it possible to fell at home so many thousands miles away? Well, that is how they made me feel when I stayed at OYA. Jackline takes care of everything in a very homy and efficient way. She is warm and welcoming. Always present, never invasive, very helpful and responding quickly to any request or interrogation. The room and the attenant bathroom were extra clean, comfortable and spacious with plenty of space to put away your clothes. Everything one can need for a good night rest. Jackline is also an excellent cook. Breakfast were memorable, so were the diner. The fireplace outside was perfect to relax after diner or for a cocktail after a long day exploring Arusha or hiking to Mandara Hut on the Kilimanjaro or upon returning from a safari in the Serengeti. Special mention to Vincent who’s help and presence were always reassuring. I am forever grateful to them for this memorable...
Read moreI spent a fantastic three weeks at OYA. Service from Jacky and Vicente was incredible, local food was delicious, rooms were spacious and airy, and lots of closet space and beds were comfy . Centrally located in the Arusha area. 30 minutes to JRO or 30 minutes to downtown Arusha with drivers readily available. They can plan day trips or Safari trips right from the home without going through expensive agencies. The guest house is newly renovated and spotless. I've never stayed in a better guest house or with nicer people. Great conversations or quiet time in the evening. Rates are very good value. Stop reading this and go book with...
