Unforgettable stay at Pakulala! This was the first stay in our safari journey and we weren’t disappointed. The welcome is amazing they sing a song that will stay with you the whole trip and even after :) the common rooms are spacious and welcoming. The room is spacious and very clean/comfortable. It does get very very very cold in the winter so pack extra layers. They do give two hot water bottles per bed which was very necessary. The team really goes out their way to make the stay amazing. Food is super nice ! Stories around the fire pit with the Masai warrior was a highlight. Margaret has been an absolute star from beginning to end ! Thank you for everything ❤️

Excellent place, with unbeatable views and an unforgettable immersive experience. The staff is incredibly friendly — we loved learning more about the Maasai community thanks to our conversation with Munga, such a great guy. Mussa was always attentive, making sure we had everything we needed… and the food was delicious! But the best part of dinner was exchanging stories with Loyce — we recommend it to all travelers looking to have a pleasant time. She’ll be happy to share her stories and hear yours! 100% recommended. Ignacio and Florencia.

We spent a lovely night in Pakulala in our trip through Tanzania. The views of the Ngorongoro crater are simply incredible. Definitely worth experiencing. We spent the evening around the fire hearing Masai stories from our Masai warrior, Merukenya, then we had dinner and a great night sleep hearing animals outside, before we went on a Ngorongoro crater Safari. The staff was very friendly and the food was good too. Would definitely consider coming back. Thanks for everything!

We had a two-night stay at the Pakulala Safari Camp. The weather was very cold and wet with thick fog for two days. We could hardly see the road on the way to the Ngorongoro Crater. However, on the day we left there was a breathtaking view of the Ngorongoro Crater as the fog had cleared up and the temperature had warmed up. Staff were very attentive, courteous and helpful and food was quite tasty although there was hardly any choice. The tents were very dark, but cosy. There are no plug points in the tents. The few, very dim lights are solar operated. There are no taps. Drinking water was provided in a large bottle, and water to brush your teeth and wash your hands was provided in bucket with a tap from which water dripped out and once the water reached a certain level in the bucket no more water would come out of the tap. You had to scoop the water out with a glass. There is also no hot water for the shower. If you wanted hot water, the Masai staff allocated to you will have to boil water and connect the hot water to the pipe outside your tent. iPhones have to be charged in the restaurant. They provided a bed turn down service and a hot water bottle for each bed at night while you were having dinner which was nice as the weather was so cold and I had to sleep with my anorak, sweater, jeans and socks on. There was no heating in the tents. We had a buffalo visit the camp on our first day and on the second and final days we saw giraffes on the road leading to and from the camp. On the whole, the experience was an interesting one, but I woke up with lower backache each morning as the bed was too soft for me. The one thing I must complement is the staff who bent over backwards to make our stay...

The accommodation is in tents. We unfortunately arrived when the weather was around 10-15C, so the tents were cold. There is no electricity points in the tents- so there is no heating at night- we got a hot water bottle! It also means that you can only charge your electronics in the main tent which is where you have your meals. There is no heating there either. |Lighting everywhere is dim as we were told that the electricity was using solar power. Thus you cannot read books at night. |There is no running hot water. You tell the staff when you want a shower and they put hot water into the bucket outside that is connected to the shower. The water temperature is what comes from that, and all occupants need to shower quickly before the water gets cold. For the sink, a container with a tap is provided. So cold water for the morning ablutions. |On the plus side, the staff were very obliging and helpful and there is a view of the crater from the main tent when there is no fog. Food was simply cooked but adequate. You get soup, mains and dessert for dinner, and a cooked breakfast including eggs - no choice. Beds were comfortable. |It was an interesting experience, but probably once...
