Amazing all around. We were a group of nine from ages 9 to 82. Everyone was so welcoming, making us feel right at home. As some people in our group had dietary restrictions, Chef Pango was able to cater to our needs. He made us Indian foods we would make in our homes. The desserts were very yummy as well. The lunch meals, whether in boxes or hot lunches, were delicious. Chef Pango would go over the menu for each meal with us to ensure we would enjoy it. Clay and Anthony helped us anytime we needed anything. Anthony was our group manager and helped us with anything. For example, my grandma was cold, and they would bring her extra blankets even during dinner. For dinner and breakfast, we never sat at the same seats, giving us a different view every meal. This allowed us to watch the water hole and see if any animals came. We were lucky and saw a wild beast and a dik dik. Lulu and Lacy at the front desk would answer all our questions and helped book a massage for grandma. We booked two night safaris and a day safari with them in open cars. The guides Justice and Stan were amazing. They were informative and would stop at any animal, including birds, that we saw. They would take out their guide books and show us the animals. We saw lots of zebras, buffalo, and elephants. Twice we saw elephant crossing right in front of us. During the day safari, the guides would set up the meals and cleaned up as well. During the night safari, Justice made sure we saw four lioness real close. It was a truly amazing experience. We would recommend doing any type of drive with Justice. The open cars were worth the price. The walking safari with Stan was informative. He showed us different paw prints and identified feces. We also did a sundowner cocktail hour. Anthony and his team brought a bar to watch the sunset in the safari. It was nice to experience this. Every time we came back from a drive, the team would welcome us with towels. On our first day, we were welcomed with drinks, towels, and take home reusable bottles for the group. Lastly, the rooms were far from the main area, but the view was worth it. My grandma’s room was far, and she would need to walk up or down two hills to get to the main area or her room. Clay and his team were helpful in giving her a ride in their golf cars to make sure she stayed safe, as the paths were rocky. The room itself was so nice. The team would come in and make the rooms. They would close and open the blinds, make the beds, restock any water and at night, they would put a heating pad in the bad. Once it got dark, we needed an escort since animals would walk around the property, but the escorts were always available. We could not recommend this place enough. With a big group, the staff was flexible to our needs and ensured we would enjoy your time. The team exceeded all expectations. We can see ourselves...
Read moreI stayed here many years ago but I can still smell the charcoal from the cooking fires and the sound of wildlife to this day. This place is magical. The rooms are built up off the ground in tree houses , hence the name. Your rooms are straight out of "out of africa", the beds are comfortable and the service impeccable. We did pay extra for drinks, that was typical for all the lodges and hotels we stayed in . This pace is 4 star so you will pay 4 star prices . Load up in Arushna with sodas and your favorite tipple if you want to save. Tse Tse flys are a nuisance, they dont like Skin So Soft by Avon (Neutrogena Rain Bath) same thing. They don't seem to be bothered by Deet so don't waste your money on that stuff. The food was excellent , the sunsets from the lounge and pool breathtaking. If you want to see lots of elephants then this is the place to be. We were also lucky to see a cheetah . We used the laundry service and had clean clothes ready by next morning for a few dollars. Next time I will pack less and use this service everywhere. The lounge area gave us an opportunity to hang out with the other guests and swop stories and information for where to spot game. We had a scary exciting car and elephant confrontation on our first day. Car lost but was thrilling. This lodge is geared up for a romantic getaway , honeymoon, or because you want to play out your Tarzan and Jane fantasy . Well...
