A great idea, but poor execution.
The idea of sleeping in a luxury tent on the Serengeti is a very good one. But unfortunately it takes more than just getting a bunch of tents off Temu and plunking them on the Savanna.
Things like warm water doesn't come by itself. (Admittedly, there was some warm water. Just not enough to shower in.) And the trickle of cold water in the sink makes shaving an exercise in patience. ( For some reason the sink was only plumbed in to cold water.)
There is not enough electricity to run a kettle, so they provide hot water in thermoses. Unfortunately, by morning the water temperature is on the colder side of tepid.
If you have a 'luxury tent for two', it is not unreasonable to have two chairs. And if there is a terrace facing the Serengeti plain, it would be nice to have some seating there as well. No - we had in total one chair, which was too heavy to carry outside.

I could have put up with a lot of this in a cheap hostel or a mountain hut. But this is billed as a luxury camp and the listed price is about $350/night including dinner and breakfast. At that price you expect the plumbing to work and the...
Read moreThis was a great stay for one night in Serengeti National Park during the rainy season. The staff are excellent, tents clean and bright, and wifi worked without any problems. It was extra quiet as we were the only occupied tent that night.
A herd of wildebeests were waiting outside the tents upon arrival in the late afternoon, and we watched the sunset with grazing antelope in the foreground, outside the main tent in the evening.
As of 4/2025 the google maps location isn't exactly correct; true coordinates are:...
Read moreThe location of this camp is amazing! It is in the middle of the Serengeti. The staff are friendly, very educated, and very welcoming. The tent we slept in was a triple and was clean and equipped with all the necessary comforts. The bed was comfortable. The food was good and allowed us to discover local tastes and flavors. Waking up to see zebras eating outside your tent is priceless! We saw some amazing sunsets! Asante sana Serengeti...
